Sync is getting stuck and won't complete

Sync is getting stuck and won't complete

Sync never finishes,  Every morning I check the status in the Dropbox app.  It's the same 26GB that never completes.  I am only using 32% of my Dropbox account, so it's not the size.  I'm up to date on payment.

Is there a way to see a single concise list of the files/folders it is trying to sync?  Either in the Dropbox app or via a browser at the Dropbox site?

Thank you, Peter

You could try finding and moving it out of the Dropbox folder @petrusrung22 - renaming it might also help.

Have you rebooted your computer at all lately by the way?

Hi @petrusrung22, sorry to hear about your syncing issue.

Could you let me know the app's exact status and version as shown in your system tray/menu bar?

Also, can you click on your avatar in the app's preferences and then on the 'View sync issues' option?

Are there any files listed there?

Let me know what you find, Peter.

There are no sync issues

I am on a Mac

Dropbox app version I think is 145.4.4921

Thanks

Could you also post a screenshot of the app's exact status @petrusrung22?

Is it 'up to date' or stuck at syncing a specific number of files?

It is stuck on a 1.51 GB media file....stuck, meaning it is frozen on this file.  That status of it has been frozen for days.  If I could cancel the sync of this file I would.

I have a similar issue but only for larger files (1MB and larger).  Just started yesterday.  I am using the Apple Mac version and have plenty of storage space.

Hey @DGr, sorry to hear about this.

Could you send me a screenshot of the app's exact status as shown in your menu bar?

Also, have you done any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this discussion?

The attached shows you what I am seeing.   It is very strange as nothing like this has happened in the years I have been using Dropbox.  All of a sudden, larger files are not syncing.  If I remove the larger files, then smaller files will start syncing but if a large file is not syncing, smaller files behind it will not sync.   I have rebooted and even reinstalled Dropbox.

Thanks for the screenshot @DGr - much appreciated!

Could you try unlinking and relinking your account through the app's preferences?

Let me know if syncing gets stuck again!
