Just recently, most (but not all) of my documents and spreadsheets have small file box icon in front of the Word doc logo and will not let me open them. This has only occurred with document in my dropbox, not on my internal computer documents. For background, I have had dropbox for many years and have never seen this before. I have plenty of storage space left because I thought that might be it, but apparently not. Does anyone know what this is? And, how to open these files? Thanks so much, Keith39Views0likes8CommentsCo-authoring does not begin when opening files from File Explorer (Windows 11)
Hi, I have just upgraded from a personal dropbox account to business standard (a team of 3 members), and also subscribed to M365 apps for business. After following the steps on 'Getting started with Microsoft co-authoring for Dropbox" https://learn.dropbox.com/self-guided-learning/microsoft-co-authoring-for-dropbox-course/microsoft-co-authoring-for-dropbox-guide I am able to open files in the Team Folder within Excel / Word with co-authoring enabled (auto-save on). However, when I open the same files directly from File Explorer (Windows 11), the file will be opened the same way like when I was using a personal account (not co-authoring, auto-save off by default, still seeing dropbox badge). My team member followed the same step and did not experienced any issue. Please help :(((85Views0likes6CommentsOpening Microsoft files ends up in an endless loop asking for authorization.

I'm having trouble getting Microsoft Office Online to load properly. When I open a *.docx document as the preview and choose "Open with Word for Web" my browser opens a new tab and the loads the same *.docx file in the preview mode. If I go to the same dropdown and click "Open with Word for Web", it opens yet another tab that also ends up being the same preview folder. The Word for Web loads properly if I use the DropBox browser interface to create a new document. However when I close it, I am back to the original situation where if I try to open it with Word for Web it only loads a new tab in the preview view. Can somebody help me get this working again? This situation started suddenly and is new to me.1KViews0likes12CommentsMicrosoft Teams integration loses login connection every other day
The new Microsoft Teams integration is great; we can now open shared links directly on the Desktop via the native app, which is a great time saver. Only bug for the integration is that users have to login to Dropbox via Teams every other day. It loses the login authorization and the 'open file in app' function is then not available anymore. Users need to login everyday in to Dropbox via Teams to make it work again.76Views0likes4CommentsCan’t edit Dropbox files in Excel anymore. Get an error about the file not being able to open.
I’ve always been able to open an Excel file in Dropbox to edit it. It was very simple…click the file, click Open In, choose Excel, make my edits, click “return to Dropbox”, refresh, and the file now had my edits. Now, however, when I click on Open In, choose Excel, I get a message that says “sorry, something went wrong and the file can’t be opened”. Super frustrating. I’ve signed out and back in, unlinked and relinked Excel Online on the actual Dropbox website, not the app. Have searched Dropbox help. I have a Microsoft 365 account, so I’ve also tried logging in and out of it. I’ve gone through setting on both applications, but no matter what I do, I no longer am able to edit this file, which means I have to upload and replace the file whenever I need to make changes. The file is shared, but I need to share it. Please help.Solved59Views0likes2CommentsCannot open Excel files with the Excel app through Dropbox on iPhone
I use the Dropbox app on my iphone. I used to be able to open excel files in excel by using “open with - excel”. But now it sends me to a screen saying Microsoft Integration wants permission. I hit the Allow button (the only other option available is “learn more”) and it just takes me back to the list of files in Dropbox. I can never get past that. I used to be able to open them from the Excel app as well, but not now. What has changed and what can I do?Solved8.9KViews0likes32Comments
