I am trying to share some folders with photos with a number of non-dropbox users. But there seems to be a problem with download. I have set a link for viewing as follows: Anyone with the link can access. Expiration date: 1 day. Required password: On. Disable download: Off. I shared the link with a user for testing. The URL appears to be working. The password is requested. Upon entering the password the user gets access to the folder and can see the pictures in the subfolders. However, when the user taps download on the screen on the phone, nothing happens. When trying to dowload the entire folder, a message telling the user that download will begin shortly appears, but nothing happens. I tested the URL on in Chrome in incognitive mode on an Android and confirmed that download works as expected. I have Dropbox latest client installed in MacOS. I don't use the Dropbox backup features for desktop or documents - however it has still taken over these icons in the Finder navigation bar. I've tried removing Dropbox, but as soon as I reinstall, the icons revert back. Does anyone know how to clear / prevent Dropbox from taking over these icons in the Finder navigation bar?14Views0likes1CommentMac desktop app has disconnected twice after using a new router
Hello all, I might be posting this too soon as it's only happened twice, but I thought maybe I could get some general help or ideas of things to test or look out for. Thanks in advance. A few days ago I was "forced" to upgrade my ISP equipment (New router and TV box). As far as I know, installation was a success on both, as things seem to be working. But this has happened twice now, and I'm just wondering if maybe there's something wrong with the router. Friday night, and again last night. Mac (Catalina 10.15.5) (I know it's and old Operating system. Long story, but I can't upgrade because of work related issues). Desktop app, I will notice the icon has been grayed out in the menu bar. When I click it, at the bottom it says something like "you have been logged out." (I'm saying this based on memory so don't hold me to this). This is for both my Personal account AND my Work account. There seems to be no way to log back in using the app. (I'm able to log in fine using my browser). Upon restart (including full shut down and restart) everything seems to be fixed and Eventually I'm logged back into both of my accounts. (The work account seems to take a long time for some reason (about 2-3 minutes). So while it's technically working, it's not normal for me to have to restart to get it to work. I'll mention this too as there might be a connection??? I use Spotify all the time. Both times this happened, I also got a strange error message about Spotify not working (I can't recall the error). Again, upon restart it works fine. Last night, I had spotify playing in the background for maybe 3+ hours and I thought it odd it suddenly stopped playing. I thought maybe the playlist ended, so didn't really check. I'm wondering if there's some sort of "time out" thing happening with this new router maybe. Has anyone ever heard of this? Thanks, and apologies on a not very detailed message here. If this continues to happen, I'll take notes of the exact messages I'm seeing and will post again. Dear Dropbox Support Team, I previously used Dropbox and had linked my account to my Apple ID. However, I deleted that account years ago. Since then, I’ve been unable to create a new account on iOS using “Sign in with Apple” or link my Apple ID to an account with the same email address. Every attempt results in an error message with ERROR 500, even when I try different email addresses or use Apple’s “Hide My Email” feature. It seems my Apple ID is now completely unable to use Dropbox, which is causing significant disruptions to my workflow. I would appreciate any guidance on resolving this issue. I'm trying to upload 1.5tb of data to a link on someone else's account. They have expanded their data quota to allow for this much data, however the dropbox upload keeps failing at my end. the 1.5TB of data is a collection of raw video media (so it's several hundred thousand files within a series of folders) When I tried to upload this via Apple Safari, the upload repeatedly stopped. I was uploading by loading the URL for the upload link to my friend's dropbox account, and then either dragging & dropping the files onto the upload link or using the folder hierarchy to navigate through the folders to select the material from an external hard drive. I've tried swapping to using Google Chrome for the upload, and now the upload link is asking for my name & email address (as per image below). this link wasn't asking for this information on the Safari web page; why am I being asked to submit my name & email? No entanto, o dropbox continua no plano basic, e não no plano Family que já está contando como pago na apple. Tento contato com o Dropbox, mas sem sucesso. Alguém pode me ajudar? I paid to upgrade but the upgrade never appeared on my account. I tried again and I received the message that I had 2 accounts with the same Apple ID ! The money has been taken from my account but still no upgrade. I only have one DropBox account so cannot resolve the problem. Has anyone had the experience of setting drop box to startup items on a mac and then added Google drive too. Google stays put in the login items but I maybe nut but Drop box disappears rom the login items.....Could someone try this too. I am using Sequoia 15.3...and a Mac Book Pro..... So dropbox randomly updated to new screenshot expirience which is not useful as it was. I've always used drag and drop feature while screenshot appeared on the corner to quickly throw file on desktop or import it to file, but right now it have annoying icons on it and i cant drag the picture into any app or do anything about it, what the point of this update? Is theres a way to revert this? Did you tested it with real users? I can always do mark up inside macos preview, there no need of "dropbox" feature for this IMO41Views2likes4Comments
