Dropbox Transfer
223 TopicsTurn off transfer notifications & emails globally
We love Dropbox transfers, but we don’t need an email saying that we just created a transfer, 5 seconds after we created a transfer. Transfer download notifications and emails are also extremely annoying. Some of our transfers are downloaded by dozens of people. I don’t need 50 emails plus 50 desktop alerts. We know that we can turn off download notifications for individual transfers, but we should be able to set this as a default. Please add transfers to the notifications page in settings so we can control these settings globally.7Views0likes0CommentsDropbox Transfer: Unique customisable Background for each transfer
This was proposed few years ago I see, but has not been implemented. Seems like such an obvious and simple feature! It would be great if each transfer could have customisable, unique for this transfer and permanent for this transfer background (and possibly thumbnail). This would be a very useful feature, for client to see a background unique to them while downloading their transfer.15Views0likes3CommentsDoes Dropbox file transfer work faster than direct upload?
1/ Does Dropbox file transfer work faster than uploading the files to the cloud (via desktop or directly on web browser)? 2/ Or is the only reason you'd use Dropbox transfer is so you don't have to use any of your online storage account limit? 3/ Does the file transfer with the same exact internet transfer at the same speed wether or you use "dropbox transfer" or "uploading to dropbox"?12Views0likes2CommentsSimplifying File Transfers when using an iOS mobile.
Please enable multiple file selection or remember the last folder during the transfer file process. Currently in iOS mobile app I can only pick one file at a time and because it goes back to the root folder for each new selection I have to find my way back to the same folder over and over again when transferring multiple files. Thank you.45Views0likes5CommentsThere is a Dropbox Transfer on my account that I didn't send
I got an email that I sent a file transfer. I did not create this transfer nor the file. I got an email that I had recieved a file transfer from me. Again I did not send. No one else has access to my account. I did a "security check" and changed my password just in case. I am concerned that it looks like someone used my account to create a transfer69Views0likes14CommentsHow can I send or share a folder privately to another user?
I want to send my landlord a copy of my ID, a bank account statement, and some paystubs. This is sensitive information, so I would rather not email it, but after exploring the various options that dropbox offers, I think this is my only option. - "Dropbox Transfer" doesn't work because my landlord doesn't have dropbox. - "Dropbox DocSend" doesn't work for a number of reasons. - I want to send a folder with 3 files. - I don't want to pay a ton of extra money for this to work. I already pay for Dropbox Plus. My Question is: What kind of Dropbox plan/subscription would I need to make this work? I have Dropbox Plus, do I need to upgrade that? Is a "Dropbox DocSend" subscription something different? Overall I am disappointed at the moment in two things. 1) This seems like a really basic, simple thing to do, and moreover, it is something that will help prevent crime and identity theft. Why doesn't Dropbox support it? (or at least why do they reserve this feature only for larger business accounts) 2) The pricing structure / feature structure is obscured and is confusing. I think the end solution will be that I just email my landlord these documents. Hopefully they stay safe.Solved342Views0likes3CommentsI don't see the "transfer a copy" option for non-Dropbox files on my Mac computer.
I've mostly been a Windows user, and use a MacBook for on the go. Lately I've been using MacOS a bit more and one thing I am missing from windows, is the ability to send any file (even ones that are not in your Dropbox) via Dropbox Transfer, by right clicking the file and then choosing "Transfer a copy..." or whatever it is on Windows. Is that feature not available on mac? Or is there just something wrong with my finder context menu? Thank youSolved83Views0likes6CommentsI try to create a transfer from my desktop app, but it gets stuck at 0%.
I have not Ben able to create a transfer on my pc running windows 11 for months. When I right click on the folder then click send copy the create transfer window pops up as usual but when I click it the Dropbox logo just spins and spins and the progress stays at 0%. I am a photographer and this is how I send my photos. I can't get any response from Dropbox and renewal is coming up on 12.22.24 and needless to say if I can't get this resolved I will not be renewing. I know I'm just one little customer and won't make a bit of difference to Dropbox but I won't throw away my money on a product I can't use or a business or service with 0 support!50Views0likes1Comment
