How to reset my camera uploads, I tried everything
Hi! I need to force the Android app to re-upload all the photos in my gallery.
I set it up so it uploads everything, not just new photos, but it will only upload new items. I believe it recognizes older pics as "already uploaded" and I don't know how to reset this.
I have already:
-re-installed the app
-deleted the cache memory
-deleted all files in the Dropbox camera upload folder
-restarted the device
-even tried from a new device with a different SD card but with the same files in it
Still, Dropbox will only upload new files.
I also tried manually uploading but due to the fíes being cover 1500, the app never stops processing the files and never uploads anything.
I'm on Android 12 and no other apps are set to

Hi dduraznito, how are you today?
I can help you reset your camera uploads, if you wish. Would it be okay for me to reach out via email, in order for us to have a look into this privately?
Let me know, and we'll take it from there!

HOW DO I DO THIS
- dduraznitoExplorer | Level 4I don't know if you are having the exact same issue, but there seems to be some hidden log of which photos have already been uploaded. This can only be reset by support. Last year they did that for me and it worked.

I would like to reset my camera upload. Can you please let me know how to do it?
Thank you

Hi maxton, thanks for messaging the Community!
This would force your device to re-upload all the images in the camera roll from the beginning into the Camera Uploads folder.
Are you looking to reset the camera uploads for a mobile device, or a desktop device?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay,
Thanks for the message.
My goal would actually be to re-upload a large portion of photos from my iPhone, given that the backup is not on Dropbox and neither on my laptop. Could you let me know if there is a why where I could just select a portion of photos to be re-uploaded?
My understanding was that it is not possible to re-upload the pictures after they have been uploaded once (even if this happened a long time ago), but I am not fully sure. If that is the case, I would be ok to re-upload the entire folder of photos from my iPhone; I would then be able to extract the missing photos from the entire folder.
Thank you,
Max

Hi Team,
I too would like to reset my camera uploads, so that all my photo's in my iPhone camera roll will be uploaded.
I have read similar requests (https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Create-upload-and-share/Camera-Upload-from-iPhone-doesn-t-upload-old-photos/td-p/230386) and Jay was able to solve this.
My desired solution is as described in the link below: "or we tell the Dropbox server to 'forget' which photos were uploaded and have them re-upload from the beginning."
Could you please reset camera uploads for me too please?
Regards
- pliSkiNAKEExplorer | Level 3How do you force Dropbox to reupload all photos that are currently on your Android phone? Even if they have been uploaded before. (Photos meaning anything you currently have set to be uploaded: just camera photos, camera photos and screenshots, etc etc.)
- HannahDropbox Staff
Hey pliSkiNAKE, thanks for posting!
Just to confirm, you're referring to the automatic camera uploads feature, correct?
If so, can we send you an email, so we can look into this internally?

I need my camera uploads reset so I can sync what is on my phone with Dropbox after I deleted all my backed up photos from Dropbox.
Thanks.

Dear all,
Sort of like same problem here. My daughter accidentally uploaded her photo's (thousands) to my Camera Uploads folder on my desktop. Solution: delete all photo's of the last two years and re-upload my own.
Therefore I asked Dropbox to reset the logfile or cache which identifies which photos have been uploaded before. But sending an email to support or opening a chat doesn't seem to get the problem solved; seems like they don't understand the question. So hope you can help?! It is basically the same problem as described by other users in this thread.
Would be best if the entries in the log file for the last two years would be erased, so only these pictures will be re-uploaded.
Please let me know if this is possible.

Hey tomfoolery - since you've already contacted our support team about this, could you share your ticket ID so that we can look it up in our system?

Hi Walter,
First: Ticket #23006265: Dropbox Support Chat
Then: Ticket #23006231: DB: Camera Uploads
Seems to be a misunderstanding in the problem definition 😉
