Camera Uploads - Back Up - All Photos vs New Photos Only

Camera Uploads - Back Up - All Photos vs New Photos Only

I have just uploaded all my photos from my iphone into dropbox using the camera upload/back up/all photos option. I am going to delete all the photos from my phone now I have done this.

I don't understand what the difference is for the 2 settings of 'All Photos' and 'New Photos Only' and which one I need going forward.

What happens if I leave this setting at 'All Photos'? Do I need to change it to 'New Photos Only' so that it is only new photos that are uploaded from here on?

Thank you.

  • Hi Anna C.22

Deleting the photos on the device wont delete them from Dropbox - just make sure they HAVE actually uploaded first 🙂

In terms of the setting you dont need to change anything. The difference is simply a way of saying 'upload only photos from this point forward' OR 'upload everything'. The first one would be used if you, for example, set up a new device and used a backup to set it up and had already put everything on Dropbox.
