Hey everyone, I've been running into some frustrating issues when trying to upload large HD videos to Dropbox, and I was hoping to get some insight or possible solutions. Here's what's happening: Extremely Slow Uploads – Even with a stable, high-speed internet connection, large files (a few GBs) take way longer than expected. Failed Uploads – Sometimes, the upload just stops midway, and I have to start all over again. No error message, just a failed attempt. Sync Issues – When using the Dropbox desktop app, the sync randomly pauses or stops entirely for no clear reason. What I’ve tried so far: Made sure my Dropbox app and browser are fully updated. Checked that I have enough available storage in my account. Ensured my internet connection is solid and isn’t being overused during uploads. Despite all this, the problem keeps happening. Would splitting the files or compressing them help? Are there any settings I should tweak for better performance?9Views0likes1CommentHow to disable annoying "Upload Complete" pop-up
I have multiple Dropbox accounts for several different clients, and as such, I must use the Dropbox website for uploading and downloading files I share for one of my clients. When I want to add my files to a Dropbox folder via the website, I always get a pop-up box with a confirmation that my upload has completed. This pop-up box is very annoying. It takes up a lot of space in the lower left corner of my screen, and the only way to get rid of it is to close it by clicking the "X." I upload files all day long and this confirmation pops up every single time. This requires a lot of extra clicking so that I can uncover and see pertinent information on my screen. Question - is there any way to disable this notification, or at the very least change it so that it pops up but disappears on its own after a second or two?742Views2likes4CommentsCan't add a file inside a shared folder when using the desktop app. It says I need permission.
I am the owner of a shared folder that is available on my desktop. However, I cannot add any files to that folder. I get an error that I don't have permission. However, I can add files to that folder when I'm on the web.Solved56Views0likes8CommentsIs there an automatic date change to current date when uploading?
Why this automatic change of date to current date when upload files to Dropbox -- no other cloud type storage system does this date change? I use both Safari & Windows (depending which laptop I use at time) to do these file uploads. Its a pain in butt that it changes date so I have to upload then go in and modify to date I want. -- I've read about some synching option but not relevant. I see others have raised this issue but no real ownership by DropBox to fix it seems? Has anyone found a way to turn off this auto date change function?Solved2.1KViews2likes11CommentsPhoto updates to USB from Dropbox
Hi, I’m an Emergency Services photographer, and I regularly provide USB’s filled with images of their station, trucks and personnel. Each time I receive a USB back to add new content, I have to manually delete the existing files from the USB to put the new Synced DropBox stuff onto it or manually select the rows of photos and Copy & Paste them onto the USB file. upload the updated versions, and then copy everything back onto the USB. It would be incredibly helpful to have a feature where I can simply select new content and press “Upload New Content to USB,” allowing the system to automatically update the drive with only the new additions. (I upload photos from my iPad onto the cloud then use the Dragging and Copy and Paste feature on laptop.) I’d love for this idea to be considered! - Ty102Views0likes5CommentsAllow uploaders to add comments or descriptions with File Requests
Summary I'd love to see an option for people uploading files via a Dropbox File Request to include a short comment or description with their upload. Why this matters This would be incredibly helpful for providing context — especially when receiving files from multiple people (like resumes, signed forms, or project files). Right now, there’s no way for the uploader to explain what the file is about, and that can lead to confusion or extra follow-up. How it could work During the file upload process, there could be an optional text field where the sender can briefly explain the file's purpose, content, or any special notes. Benefits Easier file organization Less follow-up needed to clarify uploads Improved collaboration, especially for teams or clients submitting documents I think it would make File Requests even more powerful and user-friendly.18Views1like1CommentHow can my clients comment on a file when they are uploading using a file request link?
I am setting up a system for my clients to be able to upload files using a file request link but I can't find a way for them to be able to comment on the files. Once they click upload, they no longer have access to the file and most don't have a Dropbox account. If it's not possible, I would suggest that it be submitted as an idea to improve Dropbox.23Views0likes1CommentAutomated Photo Sorting by Location (EXIF data)
Currently i use my phone for taking work-related photos as well as personal stuff, of course everything gets uploaded into the Camera Uploads folder. It would be awesome if there was an automation where it could check the EXIF data of each photo and put in a separate folder by location so all my work-related pics would be separated from everything else. Possible?34Views1like2Comments
