Moving a video from Dropbox to an iPhone photo album

The instruction for moving a video to the iPhone camera roll work,s but it only moves the file itself. it is then represented in the Camera roll or iPhone album as a black square (with the length in minutes) and no thumbnail or filename. How can it be moved in such a way that the thumbnail and file name go with the video?

You can try searching for the steps on the internet depending on the app you're using, Tom.

As for the Dropbox mobile app on iOS, to clear your cache, you can follow the steps listed below:

    1. Navigate to the “Personal” tab

    2. Tap the gear icon in the upper-left corner of the screen

    3. Select “Clear Cache”

Once this is done then please ensure you log out of the Dropbox application, then restart your device and log back in again.

Hi there TomFuller, thanks for posting on our Community and sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please let us know your device's exact OS version and the version of the Dropbox app installed there as well?

If you could also attach a screenshot of how it looks on your end, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Thanks Walter for your fast response. Attached are three screen shots showing the video as it appears in Dropbox files, the video in the Dropbox "Save as" screen, and the video as it lands in the Photo app. I wonder if the problem is in the Photo app itself. (It may discard the thumbnail and filename.) I'm not sure that Dropbox is the villain in this scenario. The iPhone has iOS 16.6. The Dropbox is 342.2.2. Thanks for your help!

      Tom

Does this happen with only this specific file or is this affecting all of your mp4 files TomFuller ?

Have you tried clearing the cache of both apps since you first noticed this?
