GarageBand MP3 bounce files saved to dropbox not seen in windows explorer (Win10)

Working in GarageBand I am able to create MP3 files, save to Dropbox and access them from web interface on any device without issue.   However for some reason these files are not seen in Explorer on my Windows(10) devices.  I am new to Mac so I imagine I must be missing something obvious ? (Please advise...using a Mac for first time is like landing on Mars)

  • Hi mcuttler

My guess here is that the folder structure OR file name contains illegal characters to windows (such as . , ! / ; etc.)

Check for and remove those and hopefully it should appear. On the Win10 device you can also mouse over the Dropbox icon and it should give you a clue as to what errors its finding

Will rename files in pure alphabet and see if that works. Thanks

Ok  think I resolved this issue but it was not filename characters.  Apparently, although GarageBand "says" it is saving the files as MP3's it actually is saving them as MP4a (which I guess is Martian for MP3).  I set up and automated rule for that folder which does the conversion.

That said, thanks again for response... I got the clue when I changed filename and drop box prompted me to set up a rule.
