Hi. Got a weird issue where the Dropbox badge shows all states (other person editing, we'll let you know when they've finished etc) EXCEPT offering to download the new version after the other user has finished editing. It just stops saying anybody else is editing and reverts to normal, and then if I save, I get a conflicted copy! Anybody else seen behaviour like this and have a solution?694Views0likes16CommentsShared links can't be opened by people I send them to
Hi, as of some weeks, when we share links of a folder to an external user (clients), they are not able to access the folder and have to request permission. We have all permissions open, so it's not a configuration issue. Please if you could review what is happening and or indicate how to solve this issue, due that we are needing to recur to other sharing pages, which is not the idea. Thanks!17Views0likes1CommentZip file can not decompress Mac OS X
Hello DB. I have now, on multiple occasions, had clients write me that when they download a folder I sent them, the resulting .zip file will provide an error when decompressed. I have myself recreated this on a Macbook Air M2 on OS X Monterey and Big Sur. The downloaded zip file has the correct size, but is corrupt. It would be great if it were possible to set a user so they cannot perform bulk deletions or moves of files. One of the users, who does not have admin rights, accidentally moved a folder with 350,000 files. As a result, we lost the functionality of the links when returning the folder back. It would therefore be great if some users could be restricted so that it is not possible to move or delete files beyond a certain quota.227Views1like3CommentsCan I password protect folders while on a Family plan?
I have created a link for viewing and other than "who has access" all other toggles are greyed out. I have the Family plan https://www.dropbox.com/family and unfortunately, I cannot find anything that specifically tells me whether this option is allowed or not. I thought there was an option for securing files. When I go here: https://help.dropbox.com/share/set-link-permissions I can see plans like "Standard" have this option, but then when I go to compare planshttps://www.dropbox.com/plans neither the "standard" nor "family plan" is listed for me to even see what options are included in these plans. Can someone please tell me how I find out exactly what is included in what plan?Solved88Views0likes2CommentsMy sharing got suspended
Error in call to API function /2/sharing/create_shared_link_with_settings: We’ve suspended your sharing activity because of a violation of Dropbox’s Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy, and Terms of Service or Services Agreement. Could someone please show me how to rectify this issue? -When I click through to support it says support is no available with my plan -When I review the list of violations I don't believe I'm in breach of any of them -I can't see anywhere to accept any new terms of service Thanks in advance! 🙂89Views0likes2CommentsBeyond annoyed with the sharing process

I have my own dropbox but independently, for work things, I been given access to files and folders in various other people's dropboxes recently but for some reason I get an error msg and can't access them. These are open files to everyone and it is not just one time / company - it's happening with courses I have paid for, with press media files that are available just generally, people who send me general links to files - I always get this error: Error Something went wrong. Don’t worry, your files are still safe and the Dropbox team has been notified. Check ourStatus Pageto see if there is a known incident, ourhelp centreandforumsfor help, or go back tohome. I have checked the installer, checked my own dropbox syncs etc. My own files are fine and so I can't see the issue. It has happened without about 5 different companies giving me access - that I can't see the files - which are open to the general public if you have been sent the link. What can I do?62Views0likes1CommentCannot share any links
Hello, I have been a Dropbox user for several years now and I use Dropbox as the main way to share files for my business. Recently I uploaded some files and shared it to a friend and since then I was banned from link sharing and I did not receive any email detailing how to resolve the issue. The error I get whenever I try to share a link is the following: Can’t share file Error in call to API function /2/sharing/create_shared_link_with_settings: We’ve interrupted your sharing activity because you tried to share a file that may contain malware. Check your email for instructions on how to resolve this. I've contacted customer support by chat and email, however, they have been extremely slow and unable to resolve the issue in a timely manner. I have also permanently deleted any files that could be causing the issue as well. Im sure this is a false positive but I am still banned from sharing. This error is negatively impacting my business and I will delete my Dropbox account and switch to a competitor like Box if this issue isn't resolved ASAP. I read several post from this forum mentioning other users experienced the same issue and it has been years with no resolution. This is not an option here. I'll will contact Dropbox by X as well and leave several negative reviews if this is not resolved soon. I just want to fix my link sharing and resolve this issue ASAP. PLEASE ADVISE.106Views1like4Comments
