You might see that the Dropbox Community team have been busy working on some major updates to the Community itself! So, here is some info on what’s changed, what’s staying the same and what you can expect from the Dropbox Community overall.
Mac

My dropbox is syncing nonstop, states 65000+ items are indexing. It's been like this for over a month, and it's been affecting my ability to copy files and folders, both to local storage and external. I tried quitting dropbox and reopening several times. Even updated and restarted my Mac several times but the number of items kept going up. Dropbox version: v211.4.6008 Macos: 15.157Views0likes7CommentsMS Word no long "likes" documents stored on external Dropbox locations (Mac OS 10.15 Sequoia)
So I recently updated from 10.14 to 10.15, and everything looks good except for MS Word. I keep my Dropbox file on an external drive (formatted as Mac OS Extended Journaled), and whenever I try to edit and save a Word document to the Dropbox location, I get a dialog box with "Check to make sure the removable drive containing this file is still available." It then renames the file to a temporary file name (e.g. .~WRD1234) and then brings up the File Save As dialog box. The whole thing repeats if I try to give it a new name. I've reindexed my Dropbox folder, removed the MS word cache, etc. etc. I'm on client build v212.4.5767. I did not see this behaviour with previous versions of Mac OS, so I'm assuming something broke with the update. Anyone with any ideas?29Views0likes3CommentsThe Dropbox icon is gray in my menu bar and the desktop app won't start.
Dropbox for mac: menu bar icon is gray and when I click it the animation starts but my desktop app never starts or connects. This has now happened on two macs. I've tried everything. Can still access my dropbox on the web. I want to upgrade but not when this is happening. Help!48Views0likes6CommentsFeedback on sync icons on macOS
I've been in contact with support about what I was convinced was a bug. But they are suggesting it's expected behavior. Before, if you had a folder with some files still syncing to the cloud, the icon on the folder would show a sync-in-progress-icon. Now it's showing a green checkmark. This makes me very confused every time. I think the icon on the folder should reflect the fact that not all files have been synced to the cloud.Show Upload Speeds
This used to be possible on a mac. In the menu bar you could click the dropbox icon and it would show you the speeds of your upload. Now it just says "syncing" but that isn't nearly as helpful. It would be much more helpful to restore the progress bar and the upload speed. As this used to be a feature, I don't know why it was removed. It was very helpful. Oftentimes I need to be able to tell clients how long something will take to upload, but I cannot do this as I once did. Also, I don't know if this is a bug of my system or how it is for everyone (I'm on macOS Sequoia), but there is no upload progress meter. The file uploading either says "waiting to sync" or "synced" with nothing in between. Per the above it would be helpful to have a progress meter that works. I should say all of this in regards to basic syncing.10Views0likes1CommentIs Sequoia 15.1.1 compatible with Dropbox?
My Macbook Pro (M1) is pestering me to upgrade to Sequoia 15.1.1. I'm currently running Sonoma 14.7.1. I'm hesitant to upgrade because I don't want to run into any issues with Dropbox. Have others had a smooth upgrade to Sequoia 15.1.1? Thanks!112Views1like8CommentsI don't see the "transfer a copy" option for non-Dropbox files on my Mac computer.
I've mostly been a Windows user, and use a MacBook for on the go. Lately I've been using MacOS a bit more and one thing I am missing from windows, is the ability to send any file (even ones that are not in your Dropbox) via Dropbox Transfer, by right clicking the file and then choosing "Transfer a copy..." or whatever it is on Windows. Is that feature not available on mac? Or is there just something wrong with my finder context menu? Thank you28Views0likes2CommentsDropbox Backup でのiMacフォルダーの設定方法について
