The Dropbox desktop app gets stuck when I delete files

When I delete any file, dropbox gets stuck, restarting the computer fixes it, but when deleting again, it still happens. Tried everything from reinstalling the programme, holding down ALT to fix it, still no fix!

Can you please clarify your computer's OS version, and the version and status of the Dropbox desktop app as shown in your menu bar/system tray?

It looks like you're running the beta version of the app. Could you try the latest, stable one from this page directly and let me know if this issue persists?

 

Just make sure to  toggle off the 'early access' option from your account's settings first.

I had this problem in stable and upgraded to beta to fix it, but ultimately it wasn't resolved

Thanks for clarifying that for me @seiyahaha 

 

Do you have any 3rd party apps that are monitoring your files somehow, like antivirus programs, a VPN/proxy setting, or even another app that syncs or backs up your files?

Hope it’s OK to jump in, @seiyahaha. Other than your OS, was there any sort of Dropbox update when you noticed this behavior? 

 

Also, when saying that Dropbox gets stuck in your OP, do you mean that your File Explorer gets stuck and you can’t navigate through your files? Or is something else going on?

 

If you quit the Dropbox app and delete a file in your Dropbox folder then, is everything working normally?
