Stuck in syncing and finder options are all gone

Stuck in syncing and finder options are all gone

I've had nothing but problems this week with dropbox on my mac with Ventura 13.0.1

1.  The mac icon shows that I am constantly syncing for the last few days.  I've left the computer on and it never ends.  I can't see what files are being synced anymore

2. All of the finder options to share links, etc are missing when I command click.  I've checked the extensions and everything is active and selected.  I can't share anything from finder.

3. I've tried using the dropbox website to get links.  However, the new files I've put in the dropbox finder folder are not there.  It seems that whatever is syncing is preventing them from being uploaded.  I'm guessing they are in the queue for syncing but I can't see.

I've tried forcing finder to close and restart. I've restarted the computer numerous times.  I'm really at a loss.  I need to be able to share files with my clients and I have been unable to do so all week.  The only solution I have found is to upload the files to the dropbox website and then share the link from there.  I need to get my finder options working and stop the perpetual syncing.  Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Hi and thanks for joining our Community, @ChristopherMagic .

Sorry to see your having trouble with our desktop app.

Can you please check the exact sync status and version of the app for me?

You can hover over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar with your mouse to see this info.

If you also click on the Dropbox icon, then on your initials/profile pic and then on "view sync issues", do you see anything listed there?

Let me know what you find and we'll go from there.

The version number is 163.4.5456

No Issues are found under Sync Issues

I also just noticed that I no longer of the finder icons indicating if the files are local or online online.

Thanks.

Hi @ChristopherMagic, have you paused syncing in the Dropbox desktop application?

Do you have any other cloud services running at the same time as the Dropbox app?

No, I have not paused anything and nothing else is running.

What is the current location of the Dropbox folder on your machine?

When you click the Dropbox icon in the menu bar, what is the message on the bottom left?

HELP _ I am having a nightmare of a time.  I have the same problem... my files stopped syncing two days ago when I upgraded my Dropbox.  Frankly I am not even sure what version of dropbox I am on... but I use a MAC with an operating system Ventura 13.3.1.  I spent hours on the phone with apple but they won't help.  Yesterday it said 59,000 files had to index - that finished... now it does not say anything about files but continues to say "indexing" - I am so frustrated... if you are a Dropbox expert and can help I will pay for your time.

Hi there @DianeDrey, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please let us know the desktop app's exact status and version as shown in your menu bar at the moment?

Is it still syncing or indexing your files?
