I can't log into my account, since I can't be identified.

Can't log in, answered security questions via email only to be told that I can't be identified....sign in uses old email address that I cannot access. I'm still signed in on opad and laptop but can't seem to change my email address there. Help!!! I basically can't work without Dropbox access and I'm super annoyed...it's a paid account and I'm very unhappy with how hard it is to contact support

    Hi Discopants, sorry to hear about that! 

     

    It sounds like you don't have access to the email address linked to your Dropbox account, therefore you can't receive the 6-digit-security-code, right? 

     

    You mentioned that you answered the security questions via email, so is it safe to assume you were in contact with our Support team? 

     

    If so, feel free to send me your ticket number, in order for me to locate it on our system. 

     

    Since you have access to an old iPad and laptop, you can try downloading your files from there, and then creating a new account. 

     

    Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

      Thank you Megan. I've managed to temporary re establish my old email address account for 90 days...I'm requesting codes but I'm not receiving them. Going round in circles! My ticket number is 23034507

    I'm so upset about this. Can't log in as no longer had access to email address used to sign up to DP years ago.
    Well, I managed to regain access to that email address however, still can't log in. Have been going back and fourth with Larry from DP (is that just a generic name for support?) Over 1 week now and no resolution. WHY IS THERE NO CONTACT NUMBER FOR DP SUPPORT????? This is a paid product and I've had better support from free products. Can someone help me please?

      Hey Discopants -  sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

       

      Are you having an issue with replying to your previous ticket with our support team? 

       

      You should be able to respond through your email normally.

       

      If this is not working for you, please send us a screenshot of any errors you might be getting.

    Someone please HELP!

    I've tried logging into my account but as a code sent to my email (that i no longer have access to) is required to login, I cannot login.

    What can I do?

      Hi Swalby, welcome to our Community!

       

      The 6 digit security code is used when you access the Dropbox account from a different location for security purposes.

       

      Without access to the email address itself, it wouldn't be possible to read this code. Is it not possible to recreate the email address and attempt to login again?

       

      If not, try submitting a help request to our support team directly through this page, while not logged in to your Dropbox account (you can try from a private browsing window).

       

      Feel free to let me know the ticket number reference when you do.
