How do I sync files so they download to a hard drive/are available for offline use?

Title, but I just got a new hard drive, installed dropbox, and selective sync'ed all my folders. I've turned on the "offline mode" so that files that are synced should start downloading to my hard drive. However, none of the downloading starts after doing this. All files still show a grey cloud icon. How can start the process?

  • I already solved the issue, haha. For anyone having the same trouble, right click on the Dropbox folder on your hard drive, go to the Dropbox secion on the popup and click "make available offline".

Thanks for taking the time to report the solution!  it fixed my issue.  I had the issue of having my folders set to Online only, then when I changed them to be available offline, nothing was happening..
