Should I have a personal or Business account?

I own my business and use Dropbox Business. It's great and more secure than personal, which I have loads of data on. Is there any reason I should have both? I can't think of any. Seems like I should just migrate everything to DB Biz. Am I missing something?

Hi texasprop, thanks for contacting us!

There are four main differences between personal and Business plans:

    • Dropbox Business plans have more security features to protect content.
    • Business plans offer more quota than personal plans.
    • All content in a Business plan is owned by the team admin, and they can delete users entirely. Personal plans and content are owned by the user.
    • The price of a personal plan is much cheaper compared to the Business plan which requires 3 licenses at a minimum.

You can see a list of the features offered between the plans on this page.

Thank you Jay. How would I go about migrating my personal account to my business account?

texasprop, just to clarify, you currently have two separate Dropbox accounts and you’d like to merge them into one, correct?

If one of them is a Business account and you currently have the desktop app installed, you can try pairing them and moving the files of your personal Dropbox account over to your local Business Dropbox folder.

Let me know if that helps.
