Dropbox charged me 191.52 dollars even though I don't have any premium account
Dropbox charged me 191.52 dollars even though I don't have any premium account. I checked my account and its basic. I am not sure how or which account got charged.
The creditcard lookup tool is of no use as the credit card record has NO transction id. It says DROPBOX SIGN/HELLOSIGN. It also says its a repeating charge.
The Support page is of no use. I feel scammed. Need help.

Dropbox cannot charge you if you didnt give it your card details or if it has and you didn't somebody has hacked your card and so you need to speak to your card company. Most often charges occur when people dont cancel a free trial in time and ignore the email warnings.
If your account now shows as Basic use https://help.dropbox.com/billing/find-credit-card-charge to find out which account you upgraded and then downgrade it. Note refunds not usually given unless legally required: https://help.dropbox.com/plans/refund

Mark, Thank You, As I said, the credit card txn says DROPBOX SIGN/HELLOSIGN and there is no transaction Id. The credit card tool needs a 12 digit txn id.

Hi cduvvuri, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
As this is related to sensitive billing info, I’d recommend getting in contact with our support team directly to look into this matter in more detail.
You can do this by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into any account, and accessing this link.
From there you should be able to contact support. Make sure to enter an email to which you can receive and send emails from.
Once you get a ticket ID from the automated response sent via email in a few minutes, please let me know the number here so I can locate it in our system.
