There was a problem completing this request

I'm unable to do anything with DropBox - browser page keeps loading the error message "There was a problem completing this request."  In reading through community postings with the same problem, I have tried deleting files to make room, but I'm unable to remove files - the page simply reloads with the same error message.

Same with any other activity - cannot load, share, or delete files nor folders.

I've tried updating security, logging out, then logging back in, to no avail.

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.

  • OK, I was finally able to make DropBox work with Firefox (v. 61.0.1).  I started Firefox in Safe Mode, then went to Library > History > Clear History > Clear Everything.  Then restarted FF in regular mode, and was then able to access my DropBox account.  Hope this helps someone out.  :)

      Hi, Walter,

Yes, and that seems to have solved the problem!  I was trying to access via FireFox (v. 61.0.1) earlier on a Windows Surface Pro 4; when I tried using Microsoft Edge, it worked fine.

So, there seems to be a potential compatibility issue with FireFox.

The DropBox site asked me to change my password, also - perhaps because of the multiple logon attempts.

      Thank you for the response!
