Dear dropbox, This is my first time using this service, even though I have heard about it for a long time. My PC was recently compromised so I had to use some sort of online backup service, as I couldnt use normal Windows backup. So I backed up nearly 200gb of my essential folders such as dekstop downloads etc. Upon having a freshly installed Windows 11, I try now regain my files and put them back onto my device. But what am I met with? Absolute brain damage. 1. Why on earth is it so difficult and confusing, to simply DOWNLOAD THE FILES BACK TO THEIR RESPECTIVE FOLDERS, that they literally synced from. Why is it I try to restore my backup, and it tells me its going to create another bloody backup for what???? Then instead of downloading my files back to my local folders, it creates more backups, syncing for no reason like its under the influence of class A drugs, and is confusing my applications. For instance as I produce music, I used FL studio. Because of this amazing service, FL studio now has not [removed] Idea what files are what, in fact now im struggling to get the application to load, because of some stupid ass sync mark on the application. And if I DONT sync them they literally wont run. I click on the files and select "make available offline" repeatedly and nothing happens. As you can probably tell I'm close to losing it. Please can anyone give me advice as I simply just want to take my files FROM dropbox, BACK to my computer where they are "syncing" from, because apparently dropbox is incapable of such basic asks. Thanks35Views0likes6CommentsWhy are all my files moved to, "Online-only" against my wishes?
Hello, Why suddenly do all my dropbox files have a cloud and arrow next to them? I didn’t set anything differently. The Sync feature apparently was reset by the program to, NEW Files-online only-AGAINST MY WISHES. I reset it to Available offline, where it had always been. That did not help-even after I then re-downloaded all my files. Dropbox chat was worthless. How do I get it to stop moving all my files to online-only? Thanks HarrySolved1.7KViews0likes6CommentsHow to download all my online-only files locally on my Mac?
PLEASE, spare me the convoluted deeply confusing previous replies or offers of solutions that do not assist in the SIMPLE answer needed. I have a MacMini M2 Pro with a 2TB internal SSD. My Dropbox is 1 TB full (2TB subscription), so it is 1/2 full (the Mac and the Dropbox). Somehow, during the last year, when offered to make "online only" to save room on the Mac, I did that, and achieved the end result of having more space on the Mac, putting all Dropbox stuff on the 'cloud'. I now want to bring it back. I want to have it always available and not only on the cloud. How to do this, EASILY? Right clicking only offers copy, share, transfer, make online only, view on Dropbox.com and version history. THere is no option for me to get anything back, or even via the "app". Is it me, am I ignorant, stupid, mentally incompetent or is it the process/software that is whacked? Once I have it "back" (ALL of it), I wish to sync the Dropbox to my Synology NAS and eliminate the use of the internal 2TB SSD for storage of the Dropbox files. Any 'step-by-step'?26Views0likes1CommentRemove "Log in or sign up" Popup when downloading from a shared link
We recently chose Dropbox as the best-looking and most functional drive-sharing tool for our video production company. However, there's an annoying popup prompting clients to log in or sign up when we share links. The "Continue with download only" button is easily missed, especially by older clients, making us look unprofessional. It's frustrating that such a customizable platform has this issue. We hope for a solution soon!4.5KViews7likes28CommentsAllow downloading of Dropbox Replay videos by default
A way to have my account BY DEFAULT allow users to download videos I post, rather than needing to go into each video/folder and enabling downloads? As a rule I want my clients to be able to download my videos so it would be a nice time-saver if I didn't need to go into these settings every single time I start a new project.26Views0likes1CommentI'm trying to delete and download my files from Dropbox, but I'm unable to do so.
I have deleted all my connections and I still get this message. What am I doing wrong? I just want to download everything and move to another service. I find dropbox far too complicated nowadays. I have been trying for weeks to get my stuff downloaded. I want to delete some files in dropbox to make it smaller first but it wont even allow me to delete files.31Views0likes2Commentsdownloaded video is choppy and laggy
After downloading the video is choppy and laggy. I tried it on my android phone, my laptop (browser: chrome , firefox) , and via the Laptop app. I tried viewing the clip in my phone , with vlc and the standard windows 10 media player. Since its a mov file i tried converting it to mp4 first which didnt work as well. if i open the dropbox link where the clips are uploaded they are not choppy. I dont know what to try anymore. Any ideas what is going on?6.5KViews0likes10CommentsCannot open downloaded Zip due to "Unable to expand (file name).zip into Downloads (Error 2)
I am trying to download photos from my photographer's Dropbox account to my external hard drive. When I try to open the Zip (which shows size 7.53GB), I receive this error: "Unable to expand (file name).zip into Downloads (Error 2 - No such file or directory.)" I see that many other people have this issue. How can it be resolved?5KViews0likes7CommentsI put all files available offline, but Dropbox doesn't download them.
Hi! I recently bought a new Macbook and wanted to sync my files to my new computer. Unfortunately, I am unable to download all the files. They are mostly kept in the cloud. I changed the preferences to offline in the Dropbox settings, but this did nothing. What to do? I need to have all my files available offline, because the cloud version prevents me from searching files and file contents via Spotlight and browsing through pictures is a drag. I have the latest Dropbox, 2TB subscription, Macbook M3 Pro, all the latest updates.655Views0likes9Comments
