You might see that the Dropbox Community team have been busy working on some major updates to the Community itself! So, here is some info on what’s changed, what’s staying the same and what you can expect from the Dropbox Community overall.

Hi, my issue is. When iam in document, that is synced in desktop application. It will not make changes for other users and they cant see me in document, when we are in at the same time. And if i save the changes it will not change the document already present, but it creates duplicate with name 2024_01_OBĚDY_OBJEDNÁVKA_ZAPISUJTE SEM (Back Office - denní's conflicted copy 2024-11-21).xlsx I already checked permissions. And tried unsynchronized and again synchronize data.15Views0likes2Comments4 files are perpetually syncing on Mac OS, and I can't identify which files
Using Dropbox (version 212.4.5767) on iMac (OS X Ventura). App works fine. But when I pull down the menu from the Dropbox icon in the menu bar, it *always* says "Syncing 4 files" I have no idea what these files are. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Dropbox app. And still the 4 files are syncing 24/7. When I "view sync issues" it gives no info. How can I determine what four files are involved here?25Views0likes7CommentsHow do I sync files so they download to a hard drive/are available for offline use?
Title, but I just got a new hard drive, installed dropbox, and selective sync'ed all my folders. I've turned on the "offline mode" so that files that are synced should start downloading to my hard drive. However, none of the downloading starts after doing this. All files still show a grey cloud icon. How can start the process?Solved10Views0likes1CommentWhat happens to folders I move around on the Dropbox website?
Title, but, more context: I have files selective synced on my desktop and set to available in offline mode. On the website, suppose I move a Folder A into Folder B, when folder A was one of the synced folders on my desktop. What happens to folder A as it relates to the syncing on my desktop? Will I suddenly and automatically see Folder B also become available on my hard drive since folder A is now a part of it (ie it is now a nested folder and would need to see folder B to access folder A)? Hope this makes sense. I just don't want to radically mess up synced folders by moving them around on the site.5Views0likes1CommentThe Dropbox desktop application will no longer be supported for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 on October 22nd
Congratulations Dropbox! You've just put the nail in the coffin of all W7 users who prefer not to be spied on and constantly used for data scraping! Well done. If the constant scaremonger nagging about running out of space, the constant begging to upgrade, the incessant app updating demands, the constant USB device interrogation upon connection wasn't enough of an incentive to finally ditch Dropbox for good, then the cutting off of users of a still perfectly good and functional, non-spyware infested OS will be the last straw. Thank you Dropbox for giving me the incentive to go to your competitors instead and get out of your ever more bloated crapware ecosystem. Sometimes, people need a little push to get away from what's comfortable and familiar, even though they suspect just how bad that relationship is for them. I thank you Dropbox for giving me this little push. Goodbye.6.1KViews7likes26CommentsDropbox icon with checkbox white interior remains a mystery.
Megan from the DropBox staff offered some help to an earlier post entitled "Dropbox icon and folder status on a Mac” but despite my replies, the discussion went dead seven days ago. I still have outstanding questions and would like to revive the discussion. I have selected the preference that all files and folders be available off-line on my primary MacBook, however, I have a mix of checkboxes, that is to say both kinds… green interior and a white check mark and white interior with a green checkmark. Below is the explanation link that Megan supplied, but there's no mention of the check mark with white interior, which was puzzling because I had seen but lost another page earlier that included that in the explanations. In looking at this article about syncing icons and reference was made to the DropBox desktop app, which aside from the icon that lives next to the Time Machine icon in the upper right menu bar in the Finder, I'm not really sure what the dropbox desktop app is? Yes it appears in the application folder, but if I double click on it, it simply takes me to the designated dropbox folder within my User folder. Which, by the way, except for emergencies, that is the only way I work with DropBox. The primary thing I want to do is faithfully mirror the activity of the Finder “DropBox” folder on the primary MacBook and have the files and folders populate to other devices. Finally, all my posts from the last month or so started re. puzzling changes to modification dates following a migration from an old MacBook to a new one. In nearly 40 years of using a Macintosh this has been one of the most challenging technical snafus I've ever encountered. Thanks, Paul syncing icons based on this article?46Views0likes15CommentsCannot open downloaded Zip due to "Unable to expand (file name).zip into Downloads (Error 2)
I am trying to download photos from my photographer's Dropbox account to my external hard drive. When I try to open the Zip (which shows size 7.53GB), I receive this error: "Unable to expand (file name).zip into Downloads (Error 2 - No such file or directory.)" I see that many other people have this issue. How can it be resolved?5KViews0likes7CommentsMS Word no long "likes" documents stored on external Dropbox locations (Mac OS 10.15 Sequoia)
So I recently updated from 10.14 to 10.15, and everything looks good except for MS Word. I keep my Dropbox file on an external drive (formatted as Mac OS Extended Journaled), and whenever I try to edit and save a Word document to the Dropbox location, I get a dialog box with "Check to make sure the removable drive containing this file is still available." It then renames the file to a temporary file name (e.g. .~WRD1234) and then brings up the File Save As dialog box. The whole thing repeats if I try to give it a new name. I've reindexed my Dropbox folder, removed the MS word cache, etc. etc. I'm on client build v212.4.5767. I did not see this behaviour with previous versions of Mac OS, so I'm assuming something broke with the update. Anyone with any ideas?36Views0likes7CommentsMy Dropbox is stuck syncing/indexing 65000+ files on my Mac device.
My dropbox is syncing nonstop, states 65000+ items are indexing. It's been like this for over a month, and it's been affecting my ability to copy files and folders, both to local storage and external. I tried quitting dropbox and reopening several times. Even updated and restarted my Mac several times but the number of items kept going up. Dropbox version: v211.4.6008 Macos: 15.162Views0likes8Comments
