My dropbox is syncing nonstop, states 65000+ items are indexing. It's been like this for over a month, and it's been affecting my ability to copy files and folders, both to local storage and external. I tried quitting dropbox and reopening several times. Even updated and restarted my Mac several times but the number of items kept going up. I set my Dropbox and folders to online only but it is still taking up the majority of my hard drive. The files are (also?) located on my c drive: C:\Users\JaneDoe\Dropbox. If I delete a folder from the C drive it deletes it everywhere. I'm not sure how to fix this as I have never had this problem before.Solved195Views0likes3CommentsCertFindCertificateInStore failed with: (-2146885628) Cannot find object or property.
As multiple other users have already reported over the last couple years, I am seeing many of these error events in my Windows 10 Event Viewer, all coming from the DbxSvc(Dropbox service) event source. Can you all please fix your desktop client software to stop spamming my event logs with these errors? This issue has dragged on far, far too long already. Either stop emitting these errors, or fix the underlying problem. Thank you.42KViews9likes88CommentsMS Word no long "likes" documents stored on external Dropbox locations (Mac OS 10.15 Sequoia)
So I recently updated from 10.14 to 10.15, and everything looks good except for MS Word. I keep my Dropbox file on an external drive (formatted as Mac OS Extended Journaled), and whenever I try to edit and save a Word document to the Dropbox location, I get a dialog box with "Check to make sure the removable drive containing this file is still available." It then renames the file to a temporary file name (e.g. .~WRD1234) and then brings up the File Save As dialog box. The whole thing repeats if I try to give it a new name. I've reindexed my Dropbox folder, removed the MS word cache, etc. etc. I'm on client build v212.4.5767. I did not see this behaviour with previous versions of Mac OS, so I'm assuming something broke with the update. Anyone with any ideas?24Views0likes3CommentsThe Dropbox icon is gray in my menu bar and the desktop app won't start.
Dropbox for mac: menu bar icon is gray and when I click it the animation starts but my desktop app never starts or connects. This has now happened on two macs. I've tried everything. Can still access my dropbox on the web. I want to upgrade but not when this is happening. Help!48Views0likes6CommentsFeedback on sync icons on macOS
I've been in contact with support about what I was convinced was a bug. But they are suggesting it's expected behavior. Before, if you had a folder with some files still syncing to the cloud, the icon on the folder would show a sync-in-progress-icon. Now it's showing a green checkmark. This makes me very confused every time. I think the icon on the folder should reflect the fact that not all files have been synced to the cloud.I do not want to see suggestion notifications on the desktop app
Please please stop bugging me with suggestions everywhere all the time! Could we just have a clean interface without constantly being distracted by suggestions of different features. Three days ago, I added Dropbox to a new ASUS Zenbook (Windows 11). Since then, no files have been updated on the ASUS although I have changed files on an old (Windows 10) Dell XPS. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Dropbox on the ASUS, which erased/restored the Dropbox folder, but the files are still 3 days old. The Dropbox icon in the ASUS taskbar says the files are up to date. But they are not. Likewise, any changes or added files I make to ASUS Dropbox do not show up on the Dell. On both computers, the Dropbox file is stored on the local desktop (not on OneDrive). I have added exceptions to my firewall (although it has allowed restoring the 3-day old Dropbox folder) but I cannot get recent file changes. From https://help.dropbox.com/sync/check-sync-status "How to sync a file or folder ... 3. Right-click the file or folder. 4. Click Sync next under Quick Actions." I do not see Quick Actions. So, I tried "View on Dropbox.com" for 2 recently changed files. This showed the files as they were before I made changes from the Dell 2-3 hours ago. These match the old version I see on the ASUS. Because sync is not working, I must resort to copying files via a thumb drive. Please HELP! [removed per Community Guidelines]Solved40Views0likes7Comments
