Earn More Space
What are we doing wrong?
Dropbox shows "Using 2.69 GB of 2.50 GB". In trying to get more space on our basic, free Dropbox account, we referred a friend. That friend accepted the invitation by doing all this:
- Click the link in the referral email or the link that was shared with you, and follow the prompts to create a Dropbox account.
- Download and install the Dropbox desktop app.
- Sign in to the desktop app.
- Verify their account's email address.
The Refer a Friend section of Settings shows that the invitation was sent, but no space was added.

Hi there crice, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Has your friend already performed all the steps you mentioned on a device that didn't have the Dropbox desktop app installed in the past?
If so, have they also completed the getting started steps?
Also, what is the referral's exact status as shown in your plan tab?
