Do not receive verification code via SMS

Hi, 

 

I have another account which was logged in on my iPhone. Recently I changed my phone but still kept the phone number. However, when I tried to login dropbox account, I did not receive verification code via SMS. Anyone knows how to resolve this matter please? Is it possible to send verification code to my registered email instead of phone number?

    Hey HTP, let's look into this together!

    As a first step, I suggest you take a look into this helpful Help Center article. 

    If you have access to your Dropbox account through a connected device, you can also temporarily disable 2FA.

    Once you're logged into the app, you can then enable it from scratch. 

    Give this a go, and let me know how it goes.

      Hi Lori, 

       

      Thanks for your recommendation. Actually I have 2 dropbox accounts: 1 normally used on my phone and another one (the one I am using to post here) is used on my laptop. So, I do not have connected device so that cannot disable 2FA.

       

      Kindly advise how to do.

        Did you follow the steps shown in the Help Center article I provided in my previous post? 

        If so, did you have trouble with any of the steps HTP?

    I don't get an SMS with a login code! My number does not receive SMS for two-factor authentication. I haven't received an SMS with a code for the third day. I tried restarting the phone, changing the sim card from the mobile phone slot, nothing helps me. Please help me, I do not know what to do already... I can't just log into my account because of this. Login to my account via google. I don't even remember the backup security codes. I can't do anything right now. I ask you to help me very much. I don't have any strength anymore. I have access to my phone number, email, but I can't get an SMS with a security code, it just doesn't come to my number! I also don't have any devices on which I logged in to my dropbox account. I only log in from my iPhone 12 phone

      Hi DUNK1, welcome to our Community! 

       

      As you're not receiving the SMS from Dropbox in order to access your account, have you made sure that you have the correct number listed in your Dropbox settings

       

      Also, have you contacted your phone carrier to see if the messages are being blocked for some reason?

       

      Keep me updated with any progress!
