I'm hoping someone here will be able to provide further assistance on this issue. One of our employee's mailboxes got compromised. While compromised, the bad actor setup a Dropbox account that is now sending out malicious emails. The account is secured with MFA, which we do not control or have backup codes for. So, recovering via MFA is not an option. We have attempted to contact Dropbox support but haven't been able to get anyone to assist with deleting the account. We have just been advised to login and delete ourselves, which is not an option. If someone is able to assist on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Nick24Views0likes6CommentsWhy am I seeing guests accessing my Dropbox Paper document?
Hi there, I'm a big fan of Dropbox Paper and been using it for a long while. 2 questions: Is this product still being developed, or will it be sunset at some point? On my Dropbox paper document, I see several badges of many guest users viewed it at the top right corner, although the document is totally private and not shared with anyone. Should I be worried? I access the Dropbox Paper documents mainly through my laptop and sometimes from my iPhone; both are logged into my Dropbox account.11Views0likes3CommentsI'm trying to submit a support form for a compromised account, but it throws an error.
Continually receiving error on Compromised Account form: "We couldn't submit your request at this time, please try again later." Tried on multiple browsers, multiple devices, and Cleared Cache/Cookies. --- Received information about account email being changed and need to get in contact with Dropbox support.38Views0likes5CommentsI can't access my Dropbox account due to 2-step authentication
Dropbox has turned on 2-step authentication without my permission. Problem is, I have left my job and don’t have access to my old phone or email so cannot provide the code for access. The Dropbox has only personal items in it, which I wish to move to another Dropbox set up using my personal account. I have written to them on 4 occasions but not getting anything back. Does anyone have any advice please?106Views0likes5CommentsA suspicious file was shared with me, but I can't delete it from my account.
Hi all, I received a very legit-looking email from a colleague (it was from her exact email address, signed off how she would do etc) which had a PDF attached for me to view. When I clicked on the attachment (via my iPhone), it opened my Dropbox app but turned into a Word doc on there (see attached computer screenshot). When I clicked on that (which is what I shouldn't have done!) it went to a Microsoft Outlook login page - needless to say I didn't log in! Now the Word doc (Klip Global.docx) is in my Dropbox account and won't allow me to delete it (it doesn't come up as an option on the '...' ). I have changed my Dropbox password and the TFA method (removing my phone number) but I want this dodgy file to be gone! Any ideas please? Many TIA, Adam29Views0likes3CommentsHow safe is Dropbox? Can they access user information?
I was going to start using Dropbox, but before creating an account, I came across the Privacy & Security concerns section on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dropbox. And the link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Dropbox expands on the information. So, in 2024, how safe IS Dropbox? Can Dropbox employees really access users' information & what about the claim that Dropbox has ownership of users' data?37Views0likes4CommentsI'm trying to enter my account, but I'm asked for a code sent to an inaccessible email address.
I've got an account [removed per Community Guidelines] with lots of information in it. I've had this account for more than ten years. I recently lost access to this email account. I know the password. I have a new computer. When I attempt to log into the account, I am told that a message has been sent to the inaccessible email account with an access number I will need to log in. So, I can't log in because I can't get the number. I've tried the alternate form that allows you to enter other information to bypass the code, but it never accepts what I've entered. In 2021, I purchased a Dropbox plus account [removed per Community Guidelines] to increase my account storage. The two accounts appeared to have melded into one and I continued to add content. Now, all that appears in that account are two folders that were shared by others to the new account. I welcome any solutions or suggestions. I desperately need access to those data. I have not accessed my account in months, and then I tried to access the account over the summer and used my logging credentials and was told that there was no account under the email. I had thousands of photos from my work as a photographer and my travels, and they are now all gone. I had to create a new account. I have no way to contact support about what happened.23Views0likes3Comments
