My two email address accounts somehow got linked when I accepted as shared folder on a project for work, and now my account has linked the two accounts and has the wrong email address. I would like to change this back but the website say that only the admin can do this. It doesn't seem to have either email account showing as the admin account somehow. The only 'admin' account that shows is that of the external folder that was shared with me.
Hi @shaunsgraham1, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Just for clarification, did you join and merge your account with a Dropbox Business team?
This will help me to assist further!

Yes. I'm pretty sure I did.
Are you looking to just change your email address, or do you want to be removed from the Dropbox Business team entirely to return to being a personal account?

I just want to change my account email address back to what it was before. It won't let me as it say it needs to be 'admin' to change it. But somehow, it has nominated as complete external persons email as the admin when I accepted a shared folder.
Since you're part of a Dropbox Business team, it isn't possible for you to change your email address. Only the team admin can make this amendment.
You can find out who they are by following these steps.

Just to be clear, you didn't accept a shared folder. You accepted an invitation to join a Business team account. In doing so, you've merged your account into the team, effectively making them the owner of your account. Was this your intent?
If they later decide to remove you from the team and they do it without first converting your account back to an individual account, your account would be deleted.
Let us know what your actual intent was and we'll tell you how best to proceed.
Yes, I did not intend to accept to join a business team account. I just wanted to be able view a shared folder. How do I change this back?
Hey @shaunsgraham1, thanks for posting here!
Keep in mind that the admin of the team account needs to convert your account back to an individual account.
Make sure they don't just remove you from the team as it would result in your account being deleted.
I hope this helps!

I cannot afford to have my account deleted as it has the files from multiple projects across multiple years. I am not in contact with the person who has been assigned as the admin, and as you say if they do not remove me properly I will lose everything. Can dropbox staff simply put my account back the way it was?
