Account Access
1745 TopicsSomeone gained access to my account and deleted all the files in a shared folder
Hi, I use a shared folder in Dropbox at work and today one of my colleagues told me that I had deleted all the files in it. When I checked, I had no files shared or owned, also the Deleted Files Folder was empty. The only thing I found was a TXT telling me "Your data has been stolen, please contact someone@outlook.com. I use my google account to log into Dropbox so mainly what I need to know is if this means that my google account is compromised too. I have checked the Signed-In Web Browsers in Dropbox and I clearly recognize a log in from a country that is not where I live, I never lost access to my account. Hope someone can help me understand how this could have happened and how can I prevent from happening again. Thanks Martin16Views0likes3CommentsPassword protect within account on the Essentials plan
I have my account open on my chrome profile and it’s possible for people to get into my dropbox account from the several shared computers it’s connected to. So I was wondering if it’s possible to password protect folders while in my own Dropbox account. my plan is Essentials.11Views0likes2CommentsHow to get my files from my old computer to my new one?
I got a new computer. I downloaded dropbox. But it's as if it's a new account. Not asking me to sign in so it can sync all my info. I thought this was the email I used on the other computer but apparently not. If I log out and go to log in, it uses the new info. Not sure how to get all my info from the old computer to this one.24Views0likes1CommentSwitching between two accounts
I have both a personal and an account I use for business (neither is a DropBox "Business" account). I can have both open in my Firefox browser on my Mac by using containers. But the menu icon shows only one account at a time (currently my personal although I could probably get it to show the other). In OneDrive, which as a long-time DB user I hate to use, I can have two menu bar icons for two separate accounts so I can easily pick the account I want. Is there a way to simplify the Dropbox interface to more easily allow access to both accounts from the menu bar icon? How can I be refunded?
On November 20, I created a Dropbox account with a free trial subscription. The next day, I canceled my account because I found it was not useful for my needs. However, on December 20, I noticed a charge of €19.99 on my account, even though I no longer have access to the service. I have tried logging in to investigate, but the system prompts me to register again using my email (this email that I am using now and that is the same that I have received the charge). After doing so, I can only access a Basic plan with no active billing information. This makes it impossible for me to access the service for which I’m being charged or even confirm details related to the subscription. I am requesting an immediate refund of the charge and the cancellation of any subscription linked to my email address. Additionally, I am unable to contact support directly due to the limitations of the Basic plan, so I am reaching out through this channel for assistance. I would greatly appreciate your prompt resolution to this issue. Please let me know if you need any further information.33Views0likes3Comments10 years of files are gone, after joining a Team.
I have used Dropbox for 10 years with company backups etc. recently someone added my email to their team so I could access their files too - but then they deleted me when the job was over and my entire Dropbox is gone. My account is even gone as when I logged in, it made me re-register. I have all my company accounts, tax files, 10 years of backups etc. I need them back. If I am audited I am totally screwed. When they added me to their team, there was still a folder called ‘Renaes files’ that had all of my personal stuff and the company one was separate. How did they delete my files? Where would they be?36Views0likes1CommentAfter formatting my computer I cannot access my files.
I formatted my computer. Then I re-installed Dropbox. I got a message that I must pay for extra space, which I did, but now I cannot access my files and don't find a way to load them or see them online. They dissapeared also from my phone. I do see the additional space I payed for. Please help, anyone19Views0likes1CommentMy email address is no longer active, so I can't login to Dropbox
Hi, the email that was used to setup my dropbox account is no longer active. I am therefore unable to access my account. I need to access so that I can update the email to my new email. I pay for my subscription. I am at a loss on how to contact Dropbox to help me.64Views1like7Comments
