Upgrade to Family Plan

Hello

If I upgrade from my individual plan to the Family plan,
will the files and folders in my original account automatically be added to the new plan?

Also, will anyone I invite be able to keep their original contents in the new plan as well?

Thank you.

  • Upgrades to plans are just an increase in quota and additional features - nothing at all changes in terms of your files/folders.

The people you invite will keep their own account, it will just be part of your plan with a bigger quota

Currently I have dropbox professional. I've retired and could downgrade to dropbox plus, but I would rather change to the family plan. It looks as if I cannot move from professional to family without downgrading first to plus. However, even if I do that, I cannot change until my billing date in November. Is it really impossible to change straightaway? This is very frustrating. I realise that family is cheaper than professional but I don't mind losing the difference. Please can anyone help me achieve a switch immediately?

Unfortunately this is correct. You cannot move to Family while on paid plans.

Hi Matteo76, thanks for posting here!

When you say you're in the same boat, do you mean in regards to what DrStuart posted? Feel free to elaborate a bit more on that.

Some info such as the plan you're currently using, and how you wish to proceed, are more than welcome.

        Keep me posted!
