Tricks for exporting file names to an Excel spreadsheet as index.

I have tried Zappier and other automations for exporting folders, subfolders, and even the files names to an excel spreadsheet to create an index or guide, even with the link for an easier access. Can anyone share a way to do such export or copy paste hack?

    Hello mendezcarlos,

Can you share what you mean by “create an index or guide”? What kind of information would that guide contain? What would it look like? Trying to understand your need before I jump to suggesting solutions.

    Thanks,

      Thanks. Andrew.
We have over 100 files in folders and subfolders for due diligence. There are a lot of people involved from different organizations (lawyers, bankers, accountants, etc.) so we need to keep an index of initial set of files available plus the tracking of added files or changes to any given folder or subfolder. Today that´s done manually and it´s painful. I tried Zappier automations and even a software called Karen´s files and didn´t work at all.  All suggestions and recommendations are welcomed.

Thank you for the details. I have an internal tool that that I use for this. I plan to tidy it up and release it for anyone who needs this. If you would like to get it sooner, please reach me directly by adding “.com” to my forum username and entering the resulting address in your browser. I will also update this thread when I have it ready for everyone else.

        Thanks, Andrew (DBoxTips)
