How to change my app data on new MacBook pro

Please help me get the Dropbox app on my new MacBook Pro.  I have tried downloading the installer a dozen times with the same error message each time. The  Dropbox app data user path is wrong (from my old iMac), and I don't know how to change it to my new computer user name in the app.

What about, to open a terminal window, after that copy the command line, I posted above as is, next paste it into the terminal window and finally press Enter key? 🧐🙂 Is it working now?

    Hi VictoriaAlger,

Execute following command in a terminal:

    rm -rf ~/.dropbox

Is the application now running normally after sign in? 😉

    Hope this helps.

I will try your solution but I’m a bit tense about how to do it.
