Print Screen doesn't save screenshots to dropbox anymore
I've used prtsc to capture my screenshots for like years now but for some reason dropbox doesn't recognize it anymore. The settings in dropbox are correct and its not a hardware problem b/c I can still press prtsc and then ctrl+v into paint.
I uninstalled and then re-installed Dropbox but the problem remains...
Any solutions? If it's OneDrive trying to take over the function, it is doing a damn good work, because I am sold!
Edit: Yeap, OneDrive working perfectly...
Edit no 2: The "solution" that worked for me was this. I disabled the function in the DropBox preferences and then I enabled the same function in the OneDrive settings. As I mentioned, OneDrive worked perfectly. But then I followed the opposite steps (disabling the function in the OneDrive preferences and then enabling the same function in the DropBox settings) and the DropBox fuction started working again!

After many months of printing screens directly to my DB Screenshots folder I received notification from Dropbox to re-install Dropbox (perhaps because I recently upgraded to Windows 10). I did so but now the Prt Sc (print screen) is captured and available in the clipboard but nothing goes to my DB Screen Shots folder. Also, tried CTRL Prtsc with same results.

Hey guys i found the problem. Go to the gear icon and click "preferences" then go to "import" and tick the box saying "share screenshots using dropbox"
Have a look at this link if your unsure...

Uninstall and re-install Dropbox and it will be fixed, and yes, it's related to OneDrive attempting to take over that function.

I'm having this issue too. PrtScr is still taking the screenshot but Dropbox isn't creating an image file for it anymore.

Same here - can paste into Gimp, but Dropbox isn't catching the PrtScr press. I've checked the "Share screenshots" box and clicked apply, as well.
** Edit **
Ctrl-PrtScr seems to do the trick now. I thought Dropbox used to respond to just a PrtScr press, maybe not. - Mark L.71New member | Level 2
This problem just started happening for me. I can CTRL-V into paint or word, but nothing is saved by Dropbox. The appropriate box is checked in preferences. I have tried unchecking it, rebooting, and then checking it again but that had no effect.

@Rudy P.
OneDrive it's not just a folder. Right click on the cloud, the OneDrive icon in the system tray (notification) area and you'll get access in the settings menu. There, in the "auto save" tab (I am not sure about the exact title in English, but it's the third tab from the left) you can check the print screen option. If you follow the steps I described above, there is a pretty good chance that the fuction in the DropBox will start working again! - Rudy P.Explorer | Level 4
I used screenshot shortcut for two years regularly on 5 different PC's. They are now all running W10 since some months but in October or so suddenly the option to use the same feature but to OneDrive popped up. I clicked it away since I'm happy with the DB function and have a special folder of the screenshots.
But on one of the devices it doesn't work no more. It is still ticket on, but no. I unticked it, rebooted my pc and ticked it again and restarted Dropbox but to no avail...
I checked the OneDrive folder but they are not getting there.
The clipboard does get it, I can dump it in any other program.
I suspect Windows changed something in the register so the function is ready to use for OneDrive. But I'm not a expert...
Somebody has any ideas?

I'm glad you found the settings, but sad that it didn't wotk for you...
It seems a bit strange, since it worked for others...
Maybe you should try disabling the option in the DropBox settings first and then "on and off" the OneDrive setting. And after that check the DropBox setting again!
It sounds a bit ridiculous, but it worked for me!
