I have stopped automatically downloading videos to my Mac. Folders appear in the finder and videos are also visible, but to download I need to try to open each one separately so that the download starts. What could be the problem?34Views0likes6CommentsChange Icons for folders in Windows
First, I would like to thank the Dropbox development team for addressing the issue with not being able to use my own desktop icons in Windows for Dropbox folders. That was accomplished a couple years ago. I wouldn't have kept my Dropbox account otherwise. That is very important to me and apparently to many subscribers. So, I am back on the same topic. I can change the icon for any folder except a shared folder, for which there is only the standard icon provided by Dropbox. If you have many shared folders, you have many icons that are the same. So, how about allowing a user to change the icon of a shared folder? I spent a least a couple of hours on trying to find out how. But nothing works. When I change it in Windows customize folder option, it never takes for a shared folder. Now, why is that? I think it's time for the Dropbox develooment team to step up, like they have before and solve another simple problem. We know you can do it. We are cheering you on! Thanks for listening to your community of users!4Views0likes0CommentsDropbox disappearing from Mac Finder side panel
This is getting annoying. Dropbox disappearing from Mac Finder side panel. Sometimes it’s there, sometimes not. Sometimes when I want to open a file on Dropbox from within an app, it’s just not there. othertimes it will be. Currently I’m on an M2 Mac MiniUpgrade your browser to use Dropbox: OEM DELL APP
I am creating a new discussion, since the original discussion which is under the same title with out the OEM DELL APP, and was not started by me, has been locked. Here is what has happened. Dell had an app which gave you 20 GB of space in your Dropbox account, when you bought a Dell computer. This app has stopped working for quite a while now. I believe that it is using either Internet Explorer, or an older browser version which can not be updated. This app was preinstalled on I believe eligible computer, but I am not sure since my computer was the first Dell computer I have seen, which had this app.3Views0likes1CommentDropbox Sync errors STILL on Windows Search folder
This is a repost of an issue I posted 7 months ago, when it first got on my nerves. "Dropbox Sync errors on Windows Search folder " The reply I got just fobbed me off, saying others haven't reported it - which may be true, but it doesn't answer the question, or address the issue. So not a good reply, was it? This post askes the same question again, clearly indicates the cause of the problem and suggests a solution. Please note the issue does not rely on any product or service other than Windows Search, the DropBox app and the Dropbox sync process. The problem occurs because Dropbox wrongly treats all data in the Dropbox tree as owned by <username>. It does not allow for folders temporarily created and owned by SYSTEM processes, such as Windows Search. Evidence I have relocated all <username> data files to a separate Data Drive D:, just as OEMs have done since Win XP. This is my Dropbox folder path and its contents (on a Win 11 box, tho' this is irrelevant) D:\Users\<username>\DropBox 'owner <username> Folder1... 'owner <username> Folder2... 'owner <username> Search 'owner SYSTEM Data 'owner SYSTEM Temp 'owner SYSTEM USGTHRSVC 'Read Permission is denied to Administrators The Dropbox System Tray window currently reports 46 Dropbox created issues... the Fix button does nothing to help, as all the error files are System files, not accessible to a normal Admin user Suggested Solution I suggest Sync should ignore any folder owned by SYSTEM, and this issue will disappear. NB It seems wrong in principle to copy SYSTEM owned files to any external system apart from a full imaging process initiated by SYSTEM. The above is 100% reproducible - assuming appropriate valid relocation of the DropBox folder Please test for yourselves and report back here. I await an update of the Dropbox app. I am using 211.4.6008 Spilly8210Views0likes1CommentMy Dropbox is syncing & indexing 65000+ files.
My dropbox is syncing nonstop, states 65000+ items are indexing. It's been like this for over a month, and it's been affecting my ability to copy files and folders, both to local storage and external. I tried quitting dropbox and reopening several times. Even updated and restarted my Mac several times but the number of items kept going up. Dropbox version: v211.4.6008 Macos: 15.139Views0likes6CommentsThe uploaded photos from the Camera Uploads aren't synced locally.
Hey there, Here's a problem I'd like some advice on. What I would want: 1. The photos from my iPhone get automatically uploaded to my Camera Uploads account in Dropbox - SUCCESS 2. The uploaded photos from the Camera Uploads account get automatically downloaded/synced to the hard drive of my MacBook - FAIL The filenames of the uploaded photos are visible in my desktop app, and if I double-click on them to view them, they will get downloaded eventually I have checked all settings I could think of and they all seem to be right. Still, I don't get to the expected result. Any guidance is much appreciated149Views0likes5Comments
