My macOS desktop app is using 1GB of memory - can I reduce it?
Is there a way to have my files sync on my desktop computers, without consuming almost 1 GB of memory?
I don't care about the other features of the desktop app.
I dislike how prevalent it is ...

It turns out something had stalled when I had 0.8 GB, but memory usage was still high at 0.6 GB after I quit and reopened dropbox.
Here are some screenshots [removed per Community Guidelines]
Dropbox is currently syncing 1834 files totaling 3 GB.
Is there an option to just run the parts of the Dropbox app that do syncing and give the right click context menu in Finder, while disabling the entire electron-wrapped webapp frontend?

Due to security reasons, we’re not allowed to click on any links, I’m afraid. You can post your screenshots here though by clicking on the following button:
As for your second question, you’d need to use a lightweight third-party Dropbox app for that on your Mac computer (however, this is not something that we can officially support); you can search for it though on your end.

OK here's the screenshots again.
0.8 GB while syncing had stalled.0.6 GB after quit and reopen.

No, I don't think there is a solution, other than "sync fewer files" or "use an unsupported third party client."
What I'll be doing instead is just quitting the Dropbox app when I want to, and then open it later to let it catch up on syncing.
