Reduced my Storage Space
Morning all,
Hope you're all keeping well!
I hope some body might be able to point me in the direction of who to contact as I'm having an issue with my Drobox storage allowance.
I signed up for DropBox over 10 years years ago when you got quite a lot of space for free and access to essentially infinite devices. Slowly DropBox has eroded that. My understanding was that I had 5Gb and access to three devices.
Yesterday I got emails saying that I had exceeded my storage space which now seems to stand at only 2GB. When did that happen?
Does anyone know who I can get in touch with to discuss my account? Or is it just time to accept that DropBox aren't providing what I signed up for and find a new provider?
Thanks in advance for any help. I really appreciate it.
Kindest,
Vinnie

Did you actually check your account or are you just going by the email? I'd check your Plan page to see what your actual usage and quota are, and your Referrals page to check on the bonus space you've earned. Also remember that not all bonus space earned is permanent. Referrals are permanent, but there are other bonuses that are time-limited and will eventually expire.

Hi Rich,
Thanks for your response. I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to do so.
I was going by the rather harsh email I'd got saying my files weren't being synchronised. I've just checked my account as you suggested and actually I've only used only 80% of 3.95GB. No idea where 3.95 comes from! I signed up for 5Gb however long ago.
Since that email I've had so many more nagging me to upgrade to a paid plan that I'm very tempted to call time after 10 years. e.g. "It’s time to upgrade your account. We noticed your Dropbox is almost full. Your files will stop syncing once you reach maximum capacity." I wouldn't call 20% left about to run out of space. I've realised the heavy handed emails and notifications on your phone and PC are just a mechanism to get you to part with money.
Once again. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. None of my slight ire is aimed at you in any way and I hope it doesn't come across in that way. I think I panicked a bit!
Kindest regards,
Vinnie

I got the same message and when I clicked on my icon to pop up my details it is still showing that I have 7.75 GB of space and 6.2 is used. Not sure if that will be reduced or taken away completely. It would be a shame if it is especially given the cost of the upgrade which seems to be a lot as compared to other storage providers.
