change user on desktop app (PC Win 10)

I have two accounts, and have recently transferred most of my files from one to another where I have more storage. Unfortunately, that is not the account that exists in my desktop app, and thus my files aren't syncing properly. As a precaution, I copied all my current files to a separate desktop folder, but I don't want to work on any of them until I get the sync linked to the correct account. So far, I have tried logging out of my old account and reinstalling the desktop app. The old account had a temporary larger storage space, but that has expired.

How do I change the linked account on my desktop? Do I have to uninstall the app and delete my old account and then reinstall the app with the second account the only one active?

I don't want to work on any of those files until I can sort out the sync problem.

I think this finally did it! It looks like all the important stuff is now accessible and I have the right account linked to the desktop app. Thanks a lot!

    Hey Team,

So I'm a heavy dropbox user - as such I have a personal account linked to my desktop. However, I want to unlink that account and so I can link a new dropbox account that I am using more regularly.

    How do I do this?!

I can't seem to find any instructions anywhere - only instructions on how to sync if I were completely new to Dropbox.

    Someone send help please.

I have 2 logins for Dropbox.

But the only way to see the second login & folders is through the Dropbox webpage.

FileExplorer (on laptop) has no login option for a different Dbox login.

How do apps and FileExplorer change Dbox logins?

I'm trying to delete the old Dbox login after I move the files to the new login.

But none of my apps can change what login I see for Dbox.

        (I'm using Windows 10)

        The answer does not work.

Using the Dropbox URL, I logged out of my old account and logged in to the new account.

While I can see the new files and folders on the Dbox web page, FileExplorer and other apps still see the old Dropbox. Apparently there isn't a way to update apps and FileExplorer to use the new acct.

Apparently having multiple accounts is not useful so I will copy all the old acct Dbox files to the new one.

And then I'm guessing I have to remove the Dbox app (it doesn't work anyway), then delete the Dbox entry in FileExplorer?

        Then what?

Sign on to the new acct using the web page?

How do I get the Dropbox folder to show up in FileExplorer?
