Will I go back to my original storage limit after downgrading my account?

Hi, my Dropbox Basic plan has a storage limit of ~18 GB. I’m wondering, if I buy Dropbox Essentials (3 TB) subscription for couple of months and go back to Dropbox Basic, will my account continue to have the ~18 GB limit?

  • Hey Ram G. - thanks for using Dropbox and posting on our Community!

In short, yes, your account will keep any additional storage you have earned through referrals or other promotions when you downgrade from the Dropbox Essentials plan.

Also note that space earned through referrals will be doubled when upgraded.

Hello Walter , thanks very for the clarification! Regarding the note about storage space getting doubled, does it mean the storage limit in my Dropbox Basic plan can potentially become ~36 GB after downgrading from Dropbox Essentials to Dropbox Basis?

        Actually no Ram G.

When you downgrade to the Basic plan, your storage would go back to what it was originally.
