How to Copy file Names within a Folder - Create a table of Contents

I have a folder and many files within.  I want to Simply copy ( select all ) the files names  to paste into a Word program.

  • This has nothing to do with dropbox itself, it's a feature of the operating system/file manager.

In MS Windows it works like this:

    1. Hold the "Shift" key, right-click the folder containing the files and select "Open Command Window Here."

    2. Type "dir /b > filenames.txt" (without quotation marks) in the Command Window. Press "Enter."

    3. Inside the folder there should now be a file filenames.txt containing names of all the files etc. inside this folder.

    4. Copy and paste this file list into your Word document.

Not sure how to do this on Mac but there is certainly a way, maybe someone else can contribute with advice.

    Hope this helped!
