Dropbox says 150Gb used, when Folder Properties says 3.9Gb, and "Calculate Size" in web says 3.9Gb
My Dropbox has recently stopped syncing, saying I am using 150Gb of space. I do right click -> properties on my Dropbox folder and it says total space of 3.94Gb. I also went to the dropbox.com website and did "Calculate Size" on each folder under "All Files", and this also adds up to 3.9Gb. My account should allow 6.8Gb, so I should be well within my quota. What is going on here? Where can I see the breakdown of what Dropbox thinks my 150Gb of usage is?
Thanks,
Ness
Never mind, I fiiiinally found it. Dropbox makes it very difficult to see where and how much space you are using, I guess they're hoping that people will just get fed up with looking and buy their upgrade. Not very decent business practice, but hey, free space right? 😕
I eventually found out that I had somehow added a backup of my external harddrive, which is where the huge data difference was coming from. For anyone else interested, you can see your backups here: https://www.dropbox.com/backup/all
Finally syncing as per normal again! \o/
