Hello all! Working for a company that uses Dropbox business for file storage. Especially CAD files at the moment. About a month ago we encountered problems with saving 2D drawings to our Dropbox. After asking the CAD-software rep for help they sent us over to Dropbox to ask here. It specifically happens when trying to save new iterations of existing 2D drawing's in Inventor. It gives us the error in the image below. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge about this? Thanks in advance!10Views0likes2CommentsCan I use OneDrive MS Office Collaboration within the Dropbox folder?
I am a huge fan of Dropbox and trust them with my files. I am currently using Dropbox as a real-time backup for my file server and users access these documents over the network. Some of us users collaborate at the same time on Excel documents using the antiquated Shared Workbook feature. This collaborative process needs to be replaced with MS Co-Author feature that's built into OneDrive. I don't trust OneDrive with my files as it is not truly backing up my files in real-time. I believe OneDrive caches file changes in a Temp folder and then uploads whenever it wants to, sometimes never. I have had a number of documents that were manually saved 50 plus times even with the auto-save feature enable, closed out of these files. A day later I ran a Temp file cleanup using a utility. Then later on that day or next day opened my documents and they had reverted to their original state. There was no file change history either that I could revert back to. On a standalone computer, can I install Dropbox, then install OneDrive inside of that folder. Then I can share documents from/to the OneDrive account on the Standalone computer to other users and my separate work computer's OneDrive account? This way I can get the Co-Author feature my team needs, while having Dropbox save true backups of my teams files as they make changes?24Views0likes1CommentHow can I seamlessly integrate Dropbox with my Shopify store?
Hello Dropbox Community, I'm exploring ways to enhance the efficiency of my Shopify e-commerce website and I've heard about the potential benefits of integrating Dropbox into my workflow. However, I'm not quite sure where to start. Could someone guide me through the process of integrating Dropbox with my Shopify store? I'm particularly interested in how Dropbox can help with managing product images, organizing inventory data, and streamlining collaboration with my team. Any insights, tips, or best practices would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help! Hi! Recently I've been getting problems with duplicate files when I export audio files from my software directly into a Dropbox folder . One of them is labled "conflicted copy", (I think that's the english term, I've got dropbox in swedish where it says "konfliktkopia"). The one that has the original file name only is always incomplete, the end of the audio file is cut. I've read that "conflicted copy" is something that happens when multiple users are editing the same file. However, I'm the single user on the account and I'm pretty sure I haven't been hacked by someone who consistently exports my audio files the same minute I am. Something seems to happen when I export the files (and thus add them to Dropbox). Like Dropbox thinks it's a new file, while it's still being rendered, and therefore thinks it's a conflict? I've been using dropbox for years and never had this before. Any ideas on how to solve it? I'm using a mac with Ventura 13.6.4. I also have dropbox installed on an iPhone, if that might be causing this somehow.700Views0likes20CommentsError "Could not save because the file is already in use" when editing with Photoshop
Hi The problem I mentioned below has been quite common since the last Dropbox update and continues to cause problems. This problem occurs in 4 out of every 10 photos saved from all 10 PCs I use. It is important for us to find a solution to this problem. ADobe Photoshop Could not save as "..........." because the file is already in use or was left open by another application.29Views0likes1CommentIntegration Issue with Dropbox link placement
When trying to integrate a Dropbox-hosted file into my platform, I encountered an issue with generating and sharing the direct download link. While Dropbox provides a shareable URL, the default link redirects users to a preview page instead of triggering an automatic download. For seamless integration, I need a direct download link that eliminates extra steps for the user. Steps I followed: Uploaded the file to Dropbox successfully. Generated the shareable link (format: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uniqueid/filename?dl=0). Modified the link to ?dl=1 for direct download. However, when embedding the modified link into my platform, some users report errors like broken downloads or file inaccessibility. Is there a way to ensure consistent, reliable direct downloads for all users through Dropbox?16Views0likes1CommentOpen .pages files in Dropbox on iPad
Hi there I‘m moving away from Office 365 to Apple apps. When on my iPad, when I click on a Word file, I get the „open in“ button to open in Microsoft Word. When I click on a .pages file, I only get an „open“ button which, when clicked, opens the file in Dropbox with no editing options. What am I doing wrong? Thanks RomanSolved56Views0likes4CommentsCan't see "Show Dropbox as a save location in Microsoft Office"
I have installed Dropbox and Microsoft Office 365 on a new Windows 11 laptop. The option to 'Show Dropbox as a save location in Microsoft Office' is not shown in the Preferences - General settings box as it should be. I have a couple of older machines, Windows 10 and Windows 11, and the option is shown in those. Any suggestions as to a fix will be most welcome.39Views0likes5Comments
