Shared Folders
772 TopicsProblems in sharing
Hello, I am a teacher. I have a folder where I save document to share for my students. I have shared it succesfully over 200 times, but now I can´t do it anymore. At my end everything is as it used to be, but now when students try to open the link, they get a message: this link does not exist. (or something similar) I am totally clueless.Solved693Views0likes3CommentsChoose location for folders shared with me?
When files or folders are shared with me, they are automatically placed in the default shared location. However, for organizational purposes and to maintain consistency within my existing project directories, it would be highly beneficial to have the ability to specify the location where shared folders are stored. This functionality would allow me to directly nest shared folders within the relevant project directories, streamlining my workflow and ensuring all related files are easily accessible in one place.15Views0likes1CommentTwo people icon on a folder that is not shared
Hi everyone, I need some help clarifying an issue with a folder on my Dropbox account. Here’s the situation: I have a root folder that I haven’t shared with anyone, and when I check the sharing and access settings, it confirms that I’m the only person with access. Specifically: Under “Manage Access” and “Share,” it says, “Only me.” There are no shared links created for the folder. The folder settings are configured so that only I, as the owner, can add members or change link settings. However, the folder icon still shows the two silhouettes of people (the shared folder icon), even though I’ve removed all access. The subfolders within this root folder are shared and appropriately display the shared folder icon, but the root folder shouldn’t be shared with anyone. I’m wondering if this is: A glitch with the folder icon, or A setting I might have overlooked that’s causing it to show as shared. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there something specific I should check to ensure the root folder isn’t unintentionally shared? Thanks in advance for your help!27Views0likes3CommentsIssue when trying to share and unshare folders
Hi. I am handing down my old laptop to my son. For that purpose, I want to 'unshare' one of my personal folders that is on it, and share his own folder on it. I can't seem to do it properly. Would appreciate a walk through. ( I tried sharing, and then approving on his email, but I don't see his folder and get a message that he is out of space. even though I have an upgraded account).15Views0likes1CommentFamily Room - cannot customize sharing settings
Hi, I have a family plan and I'm the admin. That plan makes available to every member a shared folder "Archivio Famiglia" that stands for "Family Room" I guess. My need is to setup customized credentials to my family members, for instance, I want to give view or edit access to specific folder only. Looking at the documentation Dropbox states that it's possible to set credentials in every sub-folder.. but I don't see (from web UI) any option in menu.28Views0likes5CommentsI can't access someone else's folder due to lack of space?
I get a message to join a folder of an association. When I click on that I get the message that I don't have enough space while I only use 1.94 GB of my 6.75 GB. I keep getting the message to upgrade to more space....... My available space is 6,75 GB but that doesn't matter because it's the map of someone else! If I click on "Lid worden van map" I get message below................ Who knows the solution for that............Solved43Views0likes5CommentsFolder in "shared" that is not shared
In left-side menu I go to "shared" where I can see all my shared file/folder. In there I see a folder that has not active shared option (link or user). Maybe it had previously, but not today. So whay I still have this folder in the "shared" section of my account? If I click on the 3-dots menu I see "remove from Dropbox" and nothing like "remove from Sharing". I dont undestand the logic behind this. Could you advise please?Solved23Views0likes3CommentsHow can I track the messages on shared folders and transfers?
Hello Dropbox Community I often share folders with my clients with notes Just realized today that my main client cannot read the sent notes I'm also looking where I can find the sent notes. When I search the shared and transfer tabs I find very random file sharing. For example since August 31 I shared at least 10 files but only 3 old folders show, same with the tranfers I sent at least 10 files to be reviewd with comments but only 3 show and I cannot find my comment anywhere290Views0likes4CommentsTeam folders in Power Automate have stopped working after 20/04/2024 upgrade
Since the upgrade to Dropbox on the 20/04/2024 we have encountered a number of issues with apps and programs that utilise Dropbox. Rather than confusing the issue, the first of these relates to Microsoft power automate. The team Dropbox folders that are shared with me and monitored by this program have now disappeared. The only Dropbox folders I can see our my specific folders, and not those that I have access to as part of a team. In my DBL Dropbox desktop folder I have my profile folder and then I have access to all the team folders that I am part of. I can access these on my desktop and online without an issue. The problem I have is that if I am trying to access these team folders through any other software, they are not visible following the upgrade on 20 April? This is causing major issues and I assume that there is a setting that needs to be changed for me and my colleagues? Any thoughts would be appreciated.5.3KViews1like15Comments
