Why does Dropbox remove a file from my hard drive when I "back up" to dropbox? The "dropbox help" info does not explain this. I've selected the option to "keep copies on my hard drive", but files still vaporize off my hard drive as soon as I copy them to dropbox. Do I need to turn off synching? I didn't mean to turn it on in the first place, and now it seems it seems I've inadvertently given dropbox permission to mess with my computer such that if I change any settings or if I unsynch a folder/file, it will disappear off dropbox AND OFF MY HARD DRIVE. I guess I don't understand Dropbox at all. But what does Dropbox not understand about the concept of a "BACK-UP"? A back-up is a copy, not a replacement. I don't want synching across devices etc. I just want a few files backed up to the cloud, and for the original FILES ON MY COMPUTER TO BE LEFT ALONE PLEASE. The help info is totally unhelpful on this. Can anyone tell me how to do this without losing files?Solved91Views0likes5CommentsHow to expand left sidebar width on the website?
How can I expand the left sidebar width. I have many levels of files and I can not see the names of folders that I want to move files into. As you can see below, all I can see is the first letter of the folder "A" and there are several of them. I want to be able to expand the left sidebar so I can see the names of those folders and not just the first letter. I was able to do it before, but not now for some reason. Thanks!1.8KViews6likes12CommentsI subscribed for Plus but my account is still registering as Basic.
Subscribed for Plus an hour ago to access another folder that has 700+ GB of data. Transaction went through and the account should now be Plus, but it's not. I tried to copy the folder to my account but that didn't go through no matter how many attempts, so I just joined the folder, it loaded for a bit the hit me with a "You're out of storage!" message. No, I am not out of storage, I literally just upgraded for 2 TB worth of it. I did it over and over but nothing changed. Logged out of my account then back in again, still the same. Closed my browser and quit the app, still the same. When I click on my profile icon it says my account only has 2GB of storage. I went over everything on my account and found some dumb errors. First thing I did was click on "Upgrade" and it says my current plan is Plus, then why isn't it acting like it? When opening the settings it opened to personal account and I found that my current plan is basic? I clicked on "Upgrade to Plus", then it sends a message that I already am in Plus, and it says that I already use Plus. I went back to the setting but it's back to just being basic again. I also did this process a few times, still the same. Image below is after I clicked "Upgrade to Plus". Then lastly I opened "Manage Account" and found this. Please fix this issue with my account as soon as possible, files inside are needed within a few days and it might also take a few days to download everything to my local storage.37Views0likes2Comments"Send Feedback" is broken
When I click "Send Feedback" in the Dropbox menubar icon, in order to file a bug report, the app makes my web browser open: Group: Dropbox for macOS | The Dropbox Community which redirects immediately to: Group: Dropbox for macOS | The Dropbox Community which then gives me this error: Dropbox v189.3.8308 macOS 13.6.2 (Ventura, ARM)Solved1.3KViews0likes7CommentsLes icônes de synchronisation ne sont pas visible sur Mac Sequoia. Aidez-nous ! 😢
My account was over the basic storage space so I downloaded all my files to an external drive. I see that all folders and files names have been transferred but literally NOT one file opens because they contain "zero bytes". I was on 2TB trial and more than willing to pay to recover! PLEASE HELP!!!31Views0likes3CommentsI keep seeing errors that my storage is full and syncing isn't possible, but that's not true.
Hi guys, I periodically receive errors that my storage is full and sync is paused. I am using Basic 2GB but received additional storage a long time ago. I have over 1.7GB of free storage. I tried to upload something and it is working - so the error message is not valid. Is it possible to somehow stop these messages? It looks like the logic behind it is just checking my current plan (2GB) and my used space (3.6GB). Any ideas on how to get rid of it? Thank you all!23Views0likes3CommentsI lost 3GB of storage after my account was supposedly converted back to Basic.
Hi, I've had a Basic plan with 10.4GB of storage for years. I got an unexpected email yesterday saying I'm "back on Dropbox Basic" because my admin took no action on a free trial. I didn't sign up for a free trial, and I've never been paying. Any idea why I lost 3GB of storage capacity? How can I figure out what happened and how to fix it?142Views0likes21Comments
