I'm using Dropbox on Windows Server 2019, and recently it stopped working, saying, "Support for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 has ended." They provided a link to download a "Long-Term Support" app, but after installing it, I’m still getting the same message, and it won’t launch. Has anyone else experienced this? After many years using the same computer, we purchased a new one. There are many things different from the "old days". I feel like a total newbie! I somehow ended up with my documents folder in Dropbox. And I don't use Dropbox. Could someone please tell me how I can get my files out of dropbox and my documents folder back in File Explore where I've always had it? I am leaving next week and I'd really like to be able to use my computer without these changes. I became aware that my Dropbox app stopped synchronizing two days ago. After trying several things I did an advanced de-install. Then installing again with the 'offline installer'. The normal one didn't work, because it said there was no internet connection. The connection was all the time established and even with the firewall off, it didn't work. The app is now installed, but still tries to make a connection. I found a lot of posts with connection problems, but nothing helped to me. I have stopped automatically downloading videos to my Mac. Folders appear in the finder and videos are also visible, but to download I need to try to open each one separately so that the download starts. On my primary computer, I keep all Dropbox files in offline mode. I've updated to the new Dropbox setup that places the Dropbox folder in ~/Library/CloudStorage. I'm wondering what will happen when I move to a new Mac in the future. In the past, the macOS transfer program would transfer all my files to the new computer's drive, and then Dropbox would reindex them (rather than having to redownload all the files from Dropbox). my desktop app stopped working, when I click the home icon it continually says "connecting components" without ever getting there. any changes I make to files on my desktop are not visible in the online webpage or on the app on other devices. I am unable to shift+delete any folder inside my dropbox folder so I can skip the recycling bin. This seems to be connected to this new popup about asking if I'm sure I want to delete for everyone. Which is very strange, because this is NOT in a folder I've shared with anyone else. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or how I can report this to Dropbox directly?6Views0likes1Comment
