I installed Dropbox 217.4.4417 on a new Mac with Sequoia 15.3 OS. After logging in it never managed to pass the indexing stage. I tried the following: - Logging out and logging back in; - Uninstalling and reinstalling the application (also using advanced reinstallation); - Fixing the hardlinks as suggested here [https://www.dropboxforum.com/discussions/101001014/dropbox-stuck-indexing-files/680930]; - Giving access to full hard disk; Nothing seems to fix the issue. I can see by monitoring Dropbox via Activity Monitor that it doesn't use almost any CPU/GPU and it does not use almost any network resources. Nevertheless, the app is still saying it is "indexing". Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!105Views0likes10CommentsHow do I disable Dropbox Capture and still save my screenshots to my account?
The title says it all. Dropbox capture is the worst "upgrade" I have ever encountered. It adds extra steps to my workflow and is utterly useless to me. I simply want my screen shots to save to my drop box screenshot directory How do I do this? I cannot find the actual directory to which the screen shots are saved to. I can change the screen shot destination easily from the command lineSolved38Views0likes2CommentsDropbox MacOS: app stuck with "Connecting Components" message on Sequoia.
Hello, My MacOS Dropbox client is stuck during on a state showing "Connecting Components", and I can't connect to the Dropbox server and access my files. When I access the Dropbox client's preferences page, I see: "Dropbox is still starting up and loading your accounts" I am using MacOS Sequoia 15.1.1 and the Dropbox Mac client is v213.4.4597 Thank you, Alan49Views0likes2CommentsI paid for Dropbox Plus via Apple, but my Dropbox account remains as Basic.
Hi, I’ve subscribed to Dropbox Plus and billed through Apple for many months, and recently been noticing that I’m out of storage. It seems that Dropbox is not recognizing my account as Dropbox Plus. I reached out to Dropbox customer service who pushes me to Apple to resolve the issue, and Apple pushes me back to Dropbox! Can anybody suggest what I can do? Thanks in advance!33Views1like1CommentHow to download an FMPro file without having a numerical suffix added to the filename?
Is there any way to download an FMPro file in Dropbox to my Filemaker Go app without having a numerical suffix added to the filename? I want to be able to view the latest version as it exists in Dropbox. I want the new version to overwrite the version currently in FM Go.52Views0likes15CommentsAirDrop files go to /private/tmp instead of ~/Downloads
Yesterday I downloaded and installed "Dropbox for macOS on File Provider," which appears to be v215.4.7202. It is running on a Mac mini M4 Pro with macOS Sequoia 15.2 (build 24C101). Now whenever I AirDrop a file from my iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 18.2.1, the file ends up in /private/tmp instead of ~/Downloads. I've read Topics in the Help Center posted during the past two years that are describing exactly this problem. Some say that it is due to configuring Dropbox to automatically backup of the Downloads folder but I do NOT have Dropbox set up to backup any folders, including Downloads. How to I get AirDrop to put files in ~/Downloads again. Thank you. - nello PS: I tried to include screenshots but they were 'not allowed'.Solved108Views1like4CommentsA bunch of my files went to Zero Bytes on Mac
This issue was posted here like five years ago by a different user and the fix worked for them but I've encountered the issue now and the fix isn't working. Basically, I've got a new Mac, synced all my files from my old Mac but they're mostly showing up as Zero Bytes and they're not openable. I tried going to my preferences->Account->holding down the alt/option key and clicking "Fix Permissions". It prompts me for my computer password, I enter it, it seems to work but doesn't. So I do it again, then I receive the error message in Dropbox: "Dropbox was unable to fix permissions in your Dropbox. Please contact support if the problem persists." I'm on the basic plan, so I don't have access to proper support (bad show, guys) so I'm hoping someone can help.52Views0likes6CommentsDropbox Passwörter auf iPhone und iPad
Fehlt etwas? Help! Danke, Heiko43Views0likes4CommentsI've set my iOS camera uploads to add only new photos, but it's trying to re-upload everything.
I went from a iPhone 11 to a iPhone 16 Pro a few months ago. I backed up photos to Dropbox before I moved everything to the new phone. Had issues with the new phone and Apple had me do a full factory reset, and then I was only able to download certain (minimal) apps from my cloud, to prevent the new phone from picking up anything old that might have caused the issues. This shouldn't affect my Dropbox app, since that is a separate cloud. But now when I back up photos, it is scanning my ENTIRE library of photos, which is many years worth, it seems, and it seems to want to download all of these photos, most of which are already in my Dropbox. I went to settings to see if selecting "Back up/New photos only" would solve this issue, but it only identifies new photos as of today, not the past couple of months since I got this phone. But then I looked at what's in my Camera Uploads folder, and there are photos from as recent as early December, but not current. With my old phone, Dropbox would only grab the new photos since last upload. So what am I doing wrong here?126Views0likes28CommentsDefault PDF viewer on iPad
Is there a way to change the default PDF viewer in the Dropbox App for the iPad? When I click on "Open in" in a PDF, it only shows the option of Adobe, but I use PDF Expert. (In contrast, on my Mac, when I double click on a PDF in my Dropbox folder, it automatically opens in PDF Expert). If I can't change the default PDF viewer to PDF Expert on the iPad, what is the easiest way to open a PDF from Dropbox in PDF Expert? (Of course I already know that I can start IN PDF Expert and open Dropbox files there from Dropbox, which I have linked to it; but this is for when I happen to have begun from the Dropbox iPad app instead.)Solved227Views2likes5Comments
