How can I access the files of another Dropbox account without going over-quota?

I had another organization share their drop box with me and now I am out of storage because of it...

What did I do wrong?

Can I still access it without all their files taking up space on my dropbox?

  • You can remove the share at www.dropbox.com/share but to get a shared link you need somebody who has access to the share to send you it

You havent done anything wrong. Shared folders use up everybodys account - so if you need read/write access you need to have a large enough quote.

If you need just read only ask for a shared link instead and consider returning files back via Requests.

What happens if I remove files? Does it remove them for everyone?

If you delete the files within a Share yes, it would delete for everybody.

If you remove the share from your account (i.e. so you wont have access anymore) then no it doesnt.
