You can remove the share at www.dropbox.com/share but to get a shared link you need somebody who has access to the share to send you it

Super User IIYou havent done anything wrong. Shared folders use up everybodys account - so if you need read/write access you need to have a large enough quote.
If you need just read only ask for a shared link instead and consider returning files back via Requests.
