My Dropbox account doesn't sync because it shows as over-quota, but it's not

I recently got a message saying I am using 25.8GB of 4.25GB. However, my dropbox folder in my Mac says the file size is only 3.6GB. In anycase, I cleaned up some files any my local folder is reduced to 2.59GB, but the system in dropbox still says I am using 25.8GB of 4.25GB and refusing to sync. Please help!

If you’re not the owner of this shared folder, then you can leave it with either of these two methods.

Thanks for posting this here, Timothy Cheung

Can you send me a screenshot of what you see on your Plan page

Did you also check your Backups page online, and there are no files being backed up there?

Let me know, and we’ll take it from there.

I think I found the problem. Someone shared a 23GB folder and caused this issue. I tried to delete this folder but I cannot do so. Is it because of admin rights? How can I delete this if it was shared by someone else?
