Dropbox Finder Extensions + macOS Ventura + File Provider Upgrade

Fresh Mac, upgraded Dropbox to the new File Provider setup. In macOS settings/Privacy & Security/Extensions/Added Extensions, there are two extensions under Dropbox: Finder Extensions (off) and Sharing (on). What does Finder Extensions do? Is this no longer necessary with File Provider upgrade? I have contextual menus still, so not sure anything is missing.

  • Hey there Michael C.15, thanks for posting on our Community!

With the new version of the desktop app, displaying Dropbox in the Finder toolbar isn’t supported - Apple no longer allows you to add Dropbox when customizing the Finder toolbar - the context menus are not handled by this extension though.

You can read more about the expected changes on the new desktop app for Mac OS here

    I hope this helps!

So this extension handles that feature for adding Dropbox to the finder window toolbars and is now retired, and Dropbox hasn't removed it from the update, so it's unchecked?
