unique log in issue

 

Hello, Dropbox Community,

I’m reaching out for assistance with accessing a Dropbox account I created back in 2012/2013. Unfortunately, the email address linked to the account was hacked multiple times over the years, and I eventually had to abandon it. To make matters more challenging, the email service provider has since gone out of business, leaving me without any way to receive a 6-digit verification code or reset the password.

Here are the steps I've taken so far:

  • I’ve tried contacting Dropbox Support directly, but they suggested posting here in hopes that the community or additional support options might help.
  • I still remember some details about the account, including files that might be stored there and approximate account creation details.

I’d really appreciate any advice or potential solutions from the community or Dropbox staff to regain access to my account, despite the email issues.

    Unfortunately the only people who can help are Dropbox. It is unlikely you can get the account back - and there are lots of posts of that happening on here.

    Also, how long is it since you last logged in? If its over 12 months the data has been removed due to inactivity I'm afraid 😞

        Accounts used over 12 months have all data wiped for inactivity I'm afraid. There is no way to get data back if that happens.
