The mobile app and website on Android keep logging me out of Dropbox

When I log into Dropbox, I have to re-log in repeatedly. While moving files to my device, especially if I move multiple files. I like being logged out when there's too much time of inactivity but having to log in during activity should not be required

Hi kenternst, thanks for posting today!

Are you referring to the Dropbox site, mobile app or desktop app?

Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?

This will help me to assist further!

The desktop app shouldn't have to login consistently, it should remain logged in permanently, provided you don't manually log out of the app.

What desktop OS and Dropbox desktop app version are you currently running?

Interesting this has never brought up. I use the Dropbox app on my Android app on both my Samsung android tablet model S8 and my Samsung model  phone S22. I also use the website on my S8 using Chrome and my S22.

So  the desktop app is not involved at all since you're using a web browser to do this from your Android devices kenternst

Do you have any plugins or extensions running perhaps that could be causing issues?

Does the issue persist after clearing your browser's cache, on an incognito window or another browser with no extensions or plugins running?

It does this on my browser and the android application equally (on both my S8 and S22) and has always been this way. I clear cache, history's, etc. on a regular basis. I have to re-log in every time I save a file to any device, I have to re-log in every time I finish saving the file to a device. I have to re- log in before I can begin to save multiple files to any device and again when it's done.

Hope it’s OK to jump in here, kenternst.

Just to clarify, have you also tried completely reinstalling the Dropbox app on these devices (with these steps), and the issue still persists? Before reinstalling the app, please make sure you're not on a free Basic plan with more than 3 devices currently connected.

This is on two devices and uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. One device is a S22 that replaced a S20. This behavior of having to re-log on happens when moving picture files to a device and after finishing moving the file. I'm a multiyear subscriber to Dropbox paying for 2TB of storage for several years, to handle my storage and organizing thousands of pictures files.

Thanks for the details, I believe at this point it would be better to contact the support team directly for them to investigate this matter in more detail to see why this is occurring on your device.
