Dropbox running on compatibility mode gives me an error.

This error started popping up couple of days ago whenever I opened my laptop.

Dropbox isn't syncing.

Have searched previous communications and tried several solutions: advanced uninstall, firewall software, etc.

But nothing worked :(

Probably a really daft one,  but, did you turn off compatibility mode?

    What is your OS?

I didn't off compatibility mode. The message just suddenly pops up whenever I turn on my computer.

I'm having same issue on my Win 11 machine.  I've been in contact with Drop Box support as I pay for the Drop Box Plus version.  But we have not been able to solve this.  The only clue I have is that installing older offline versions like 210. or 211. seem to work for a minute or two until the silly app auto updates itself then it stops working.  I do have to enable Compatility Mode for Win 7 to allow this to work for a few minutes, but then it updates then exits.  Super frustrating!

    Hi mt33,

To clarify, are you receiving this error message after attempting to run in compatibility mode, or are you seeing it upon normal startup?

Compatibility mode is generally not supported, though I understand some users are attempting to use it as a workaround to connection failure.

    Thanks,

    Ben

The message pops up whenever I turn on my computer. I did not turn off or attempt to run in compatibility mode. I even didn't know what is compatibility mode before seeing this message.

I've searched and tried several ways to solve: 1) check the computer storage, 2) check the firewall or similar software, 3) uninstall and advanced uninstall. But the message still pops up.

During last few days, I've tried and observed that if I choose to "Continue in compatibility mode", the dropbox seems to work well with normal syncing function.

I'm using the Dropbox Plus for the last few years with 4 devices. But this problem happens with one computer only.
