Dropbox Menu won't load on my MacBook Air 2022 (M2 chip)
This has been an ongoing issue since I upgraded my computer to a MacBook Air 2022 (M2).
I install Dropbox but the menu never shows at the top of the screen. I have had this discussion with Support and it's still not resolved.
When I first had this problem, it was installing Version 155.4.???? (I don't remember the last 4 digits). This was done automatically when I transferred my data from my old Mac.
I talked with support and they asked me to be sure that the Early Update option was turned off - IT WAS
They did ask me to install the latest stable version which was 147.4.4800.
That appeared to correct the problem and the menu would load.
But now it has disappeared again because dropbox was updated to Version: 155.4.5493
I downloaded the latest stable version which is Version: 153.4.3932 and deleted the current version (using Safe Boot) and it started working again
I rebooted normally and the menu didn't load and I was now using Version 155.4.5493. Apparently, Dropbox updated itself.
Has anyone seen this issue or have any ideas about what might be causing the problem?
Thanks
Elliot

Hey Elliot J.1, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Can you please clarify if the Dropbox icon is also missing from your menu bar?
Or does it exist and you are clicking on it, but the menu window just doesn't load?
Also, please send over the ticket number from the communication you had with our support team, so we can look it up in our system.
Thanks.

Hannah -
Thank you. The ticket # is 18032962, and the last conversation I had with support was on 8/10/22, basically because it appeared to be working.
I have done some additional testing and it appears that the latest version 155.4.5493 does work on my Air (M2) when in Safe Boot.
I rebooted into full mode and started testing items that autoload and may have found the problem. When I quit Parallel's Toolkit which does autoload, the dropbox menu did show in the top menu bar and appeared to work normally. I am still testing to make sure this is the problem and I will reach out to Parallel to see if this problem has been reported to them.
I will update this message as I continue to work the issue.

Same problem here and I've tried everything. It's broken. When can we expect a fix?

Hi RickSaphire1, what version of the Dropbox desktop application are you running, and what Mac OS do you have?

I am having same issue.
- NancyDropbox Staff
Sorry to hear that, EricLynch.
Can you send over more details on your issue? What’s the app version of your Dropbox app at the moment, as well as your OS version?
When did you start having issues with this approximately?
Have you opened any tickets with our support team about this?
